Langauge can be funny
What has happened to the weather in Spain these days? It's like living in UK again. We seem to have more bad days than good at the moment. Even the Spanish are finding it odd. OK, so we'll all be moaning soon that it's too hot but that's not the point....
The day started really well today, the sun was shining, we went for breakfast at the best coffee shop in the area by far but now it's dull and windy again. Oh well.
Saw something funny yesterday. For the Spanish, if they can speak some English, then that is regarded as being cultured. They all (more or less) want to learn. The thing is that at the same time they think it's cool to wear clothes with english words on them...even if they don't know what they mean...see where I'm going with this!? Saw a mother and daughter yesterday and the mother (a very mumsy one at that) was wearing a t-shirt with the words "Up for it" in big across the front! Surely she couldn't have known what that really meant!
We also received a couple of t-shirst as presents (from a Spanish friend) for our daughters recently with some English writing on the front. They read "Wearing the new shit goes to school". It's badly worded anyway but missing out that "r" totally changes the sentence! If only our friend could read a little bit of English...
