Someone is taking the p*ss
I really need to stop abandoning my blog like this (although does anyone actually read it??)
But, I do have a good excuse. We spent Easter week in Rome seeing "El Papa" and all the sites. Fantastic city in terms of its history with so many interesting and "must see before I die" places all over the city. However, it was totally manic and chaotic so we returned to Spain on the Friday to recover! Well worth seeing but I certainly couldn't live there....it's just total chaos.
Yesterday I popped round a (Spanish) friend's house for a chat and he had the telly on in the background. There was some puppet teaching English words to Spanish children and I was rather taken aback with what he was teaching.
The Spanish word for taking a pee is "mear". This word in itself is not really a nice word and doesn't sound nice when children use it. But then to top things off they put the English translation for this as "to take a piss". When I was growing up I don't think I ever heard Kermit talking about taking a piss! I think these puppets need to be sent back to school and learn how to speak proper. Puppets these days hey!
This week I realised too that it's good to get away. Our urbanisation has totally run out of money and I'm avoiding the maintenance guy and the cleaners as we still can't pay them. I wish people would cough up and just pay their community fees. They don't seem to realise the impace their selfishness has on every other (paying) owner.
So with foul-mouthed puppets and tight-fisted owners I think I might be heading back to Rome at this rate.

I was recently reading on Costa rica on http://www.costaricahq.org and based on your blog on spain they seem really similar.Do you think that this is so because of the hispanic heritage that they share.
