Google update...not so good!

Sorry I've not posted for a few days but there is a good reason...

Google decided to do a major update last week to clear a load of spam from its index. The update will be going on for a few weeks and we have been caught in the middle! So we've been doing a lot of work on the search engine side of things to try and make sense of it all.

Obviously some things in life can be a problem no matter where you live!

We've done a couple of articles recently which you may find of interest. They are in keeping for the festive time which is upon us once again (it certainly comes round again quickly):

Christmas in Spain

New Year in Spain

Be back soon...

Sundays

Another Sunday....churros and chocolate this morning, then park by the beach for the kids and another barbecue in the afternoon. It really is nice here.

It was absolutely boiling today. Loads of people on the beach (mainly English though) enjoying this great weather. Seems summer hasn't quite left us yet...

It's nice to be back

I haven't posted a message for a few days as I've been in London. Went to London for a "break" with my brother as I needed to get away from the PC for a few days. London was great. What a fantastic city. I just wish we'd visited more often when we were actully living just half an hour away in Kent. Still, we had a great time although after 3 days I was ready to come back home to Spain....for a break! We live in Manilva which is a very quiet town. Very relaxing and easy place to live. A total opposite to London. I enjoyed London but was glad to come home. The fast paced lifestyle that you need in a big city is not something that really suits me well at all. I think I'll certainly stick with my Manilva for now....but who knows in the future!

The rain in Spain

Just as I always go on about the weather and how good it is here....today the heavens opened. When it rains here it does it in style. We've had horrendous thunder and lightning all day (although we still had lunch on the terrace as the sun came out for a little while).

I just wish we had some central heating...it's starting to get a bit nippy in the evenings now.

Just off to get some blankets!

Things to do...

Never short of things to do here, especially for kids. The weather wasn't brilliant today (a couple of spots of rain, but not cold!) so we took the kids to the zoo in Fuengirola. It's a great little zoo right in the middle of the town. It's perfect to spend an afternoon there. It's just the right size to walk around, lots of great well-kept animals with a nice restaurant (very important!).

When we arrived back in Manilva in the evening we found ouselves with the electricity going on and off for ages. Power cuts are still a problem here, I can't remember having one in the UK. Still, it's back now, hence me posting my message now!

Hasta luego.

Churros an chocolate

What do you do on a boring Sunday morning? Join the Spanish eating "churros con chocolate" at a "churreria".

Churros are great. They are very simple long sweet batter stips made from flour and milk. You dunk them in a mug of thick chocolate and they taste great! We've had them many a time before but the churreria in Estepona was very busy this morning with all the locals there on a warm morning in October. It was a really nice way to start the morning.

We then took the kids to play in the big park by the beach just a couple of minutes away from the churreria with the hot sun making it an ideal morning.

A relaxed afternoon was spent at a friend's villa accompanied by a wonderful barbecue by the pool.

Not a bad life really. Spain really is a great place to bring up the kids as the weather is mostly on your side.

Hasta luego.

Really want to get a job in Spain?

I've been a bit busy over the past few days so only just got round to posting something on here.

Saying that...I've not actually got a lot to say! The highlight of our week is that the town hall has finally finished the road outside our development. It means we no longer have to park miles away. I will never again take roads for granted!

We receive many emails every day with all sorts of requests and comments (some a bit wierd!). We get lots of people asking us about finding jobs in Spain so we've done an article on this for our Eye Spy Spain magazine. It's quite an honest article....you can read it at:

Jobs in Spain

Just going outside now to admire and appreciate our new road!

Hasta luego.
