I'm still here

Wow, three weeks since my last post. Where have I been?

Well, last week I went into hospital for an operation on my nose. I broke it when I was very young and have never been able to breathe properly throught it. I went in last Monday and though that on Tuesday afternoon I'd be back at my PC. Err...no. I sort of lost last week The whole thing, including the general anaethetic took everything out of me.

I felt really sluggish and groggy all week with lost of blood and stuff still coming out of my nose...nice!

Then this week we moved house. I'll never get used to moving. It always takes much longer and is much more work then it seems. So sort of lost of lost most of this week too.

Also, this week we've be rearranging the office to make space for my new purchase....a seven foot pool table! It can't all be work work work can it?

Anyway, nearly back to normal so hopefully will be around much more next week.

Just have to try and get round to answering the hundreds of emails that have piled up now....sigh.

Manilva wine coming soon

On Friday Susan took the car in the morning and I needed to go down to Sabinillas for a couple of things. So instead of being lazy I decided to walk down the hill from Manilva to "Sabi".

It's probably not the safest road to walk down. There is no pavement for most of the road and cars come by quite close and fast at times.

But walking down the hill you see so much more than driving down. What really struck me the other day was the number of grave vines in the area. It's not as big an industry as it used to be but Manilva still produces a lot of wine each year. It's a Moscatel sweet wine.

But why doesn't the local town hall make more out of this? I took these photos on Friday of the grape vines and a shop on the hill that sells the local wine.

I'll take some more photos soon to track the progress of the grapes...
