So What Could I Blog About?
ANYTHING....as long as it somehow relates to Spain.
We want you to blog about anything you want to on Eye on Spain. As long as your blog isn't a load of spam (and I'm not talking about the variety in a can) then we're happy to have you blogging here with us.
Here's some ideas of what you could blog about:
- If you're moving to Spain you can blog about the build up and tell people about
how the whole planning part is going on a regular basis. It would help others
preparing to move here too. You could then interact with fellow "moving to
Spain" bloggers. You could then blog about the actual move and then settling
in Spain.
- If you're buying a property in Spain you could blog about your ongoing experience
with this. House hunting, the agent, the lawyer, etc. I'm sure most
people have loads of stories to tell.
- Maybe you're trying to sell your property in Spain? You could blog about all
the different things you're doing to try to sell it. This is quite a hot topic
at the moment. You could use it to also generate interest in your own property
- If you're living in Spain you could create a blog to cover your local area.
What's happening in the area? What's new? Where to go? Etc.
Local blogs are always very popular.
- If you own a business in Spain you could use your blog to give information about
your particular area of expertise. You shouldn't use a blog to directly sell
to people but giving information and advice builds trust and the rewards will come.
- If you have a property you rent
out in Spain a blog is a good way to generate exposure
for it. You could blog about local topics to attract visitors to your blog
who are interested in that area or development.
- Maybe you're the president of a community. Presidents always have loads of
interesting stories to tell about their totally thankless tasks.
You get the idea. The options are limitless. The important thing is
that you try to make your blog easy to read, interesting and try and get people
coming back and telling their friends about.
Be creative and have fun....that's what blogging is about!
How Can I Make Some Money Blogging?
It's simple....ADVERTISING.
I can hear you groaning already. Don't worry, it's a very simple system that
you can use called Google Adsense. They have the advertisers already, you
just need to put them on your blog.
So you don't have to find any advertisers yourself. It's the system we use
here on Eye on Spain. The majority of the ads on this site come straight from
Google. Here's how it works.
You need to set up an Adsense
account with Google which is free to do. You then simply generate
the code for your site and place it into your blog.
When your blog is loaded in a browser, Google's computers decide which ads to display
on your site. It will always try to display ads that match your content so
that they are relevant to your users.
Then, when your visitors click on those ads Google pays you a share of the value
of that ad. They never tell you how much any specific ad is worth or what
share you are getting, all you see if the accumulative value of the revenue that
you've earned from the clicks on a daily basis.
It's a very simple way to monetise your blog or website. With the Eye on Spain
blog application, if you want to generate Adsense revenue you only have to enter
your Adsense ID when you set up your blog and it will display your ads on your blog
for you.
Now, if you do want to go down this path and you don't currently have and Adsense
account, I would suggest that you set up your blog and blog away for a couple of
weeks before registering for Google's Adsense programme. Otherwise, if you
have no content on your blog you may not get accepted.
