I'm going blind but I don't mind

I've seen the world. I know where the keys are on a typewriter. I have my memories and thoughts to reflect on. I cannot complain.

My eyesight is diminishing and I think eventually I will go blind. I am not sad as I have experienced more in my life than a lot of other unfortunate people around the world.

I am not here to tell you about my sad issue but just to tell you about what I love right now.

I love the smell of the flowers, the smiling happy people, especially when the sun is out. I love the smell of the perfume as a lady passes my window and the thought of the effort she has made to prepare for her outing that day.

I love the old people shouting at each each and every day. I love the sound of the sheep bells and the eeaahhhww of the donkeys as they all walk past my house.

Do you know, I can experience all of those feelings when I go blind.

So I don't mind......
