Where can I buy Yeast Free Bread from?

Hi all 

Just back from a weeks break on complex, ...weather was superb in the 80's,  complex was very quiet....we visited Granada and Guadix towns,   The Alhambra Palace was amazing and Guadix town has people living in cave houses, area looks like another planet...worth a visit...   

Latest news on complex...

1. Security company have gone and we now have one of the original guys working night shift using Country Club van,  country club staff patrol complex in day time     
     using van or golf buggy...nice saving by gumer :-)

2.  New signs have gone up around the pools, rules and regulations... 

3. New signs are also up showing each block numers etc etc, will help with rentals and deliveries..

4. All Labaro apts have been furnished and lights added, guess there making a big push to sell them .. 

5. One of the new security barriers was installed, looks OK...It's down hill from me,  just before exit by the Galera sales office... 

6. All pool areas now have new wooden Parasols...

On another Note,  the ' GALERA ' complex across from Country Club seems to have stopped, no builders have been there for last 2 months but just before we left a huge 
VERA construction sign went up, im guessing developer has sold on complex and a new builder is going to finish it ( I HOPE ),  no one at sales office either.

La Galera Park Phase 2 has also stopped,  not seen any  builders there either, there pool is full of dirty water,  outside the road and land is full of builders rubbish and by my apt they dug a huge hole to hide the rubbish but it's just been left  and has filled with water,  pretty dangerous if kids were to fall in...

The new English supermarket has a new sign but nothing else has changed, still empty inside... no other activity or any  more shops opening up.. 

Looking forward to our next visit in August...

Gardens look good,  i did notice some parts look a bit wild but mostly all good,  

I have a shock in front of me,  G.Park Ph2 apts are done but builders have left a right ole mess on the land ment for the
original Hotel,  they have dumped everything and even duge a huge hole and started to fill it in but have just left it, now i have an
eyes view of a right ole mess,  hole is now filled with water and kids play by it, if one fell in, good knows what could happen, rest of rubbish, pipes, concrete, palletts, fencing, etc etc all left lying around,  they have even had fires on there pavement... 

Place is a joke,  i'll be surprised if any of the apts have sold...

Hi All,

I had a flying visit a couple of weeks back (haven't been out for over a year) and I am pretty pleased with how the complex looks. The only problem I would say with regards to Costa Galera is that it still seems very quite. I think if more people lived or went on holiday there then it would give the place a lot more atmosphere which currently it seems to be lacking. I didn't really look at Galera Park but I hope that they can sort out the problems with this development and get it finished as this will obviously have a knock on effect on the whole area. I am hoping the shops get taken on by companies soon as this will make the complex a lot better.

On driving from Estepona marina towards the complex it looks like they have started to prepare the land for a big project which will be just round the corner from Costa Galera. Does anyone have any idea what this is going to be?

Also, anyone been down to Duquesa marina lately? I thought the marina looked nice when I bought but haven't been there for sometime and I have now read on another website that the port is looking quite rund down. If this is true this would be a shame as it was one of the main attractions of the area.

Yes the complex is very quiet but i have noticed a lot more people  living there, also Labaro still own 47... 

Galera Park has many problems but there gardens seem to be getting better, i feel that most of the complex never sold,
Phase 2 apts were not even advertised...as for shops i can't see anything happening with them, there in a right ole state..

The land your talking about is the new roads for Estepona Golf and the new super market that going up right now..

Duquesa looks ok, very English down there...

thanks for the below. Is the new supermarket you mention below, the largest shopping centre in Spain I keep hearing about or is this something different? There seems to be quite a few things happening in the area so hopefully things should be pick up in the future. 

Have you rented your apartment out at all? I am thinking of maybe trying to get a few short term holiday lets and just wondering how easy it is to rent them?

We have just rented ours this week but went for 11month term. Short term seemed to be to complicated and expensive to look after. For long term option try availablenow.ie his name is Dominic Packwood maybe he could direct you re short term lets also.

Dogs i was on there web site,  im looking to rent out long term,  country club not taking on anymore apts,  i will mail them and see whats what,  do you get it rented easily ?? - how mcuh do they charge etc etc - PM me if  you want :-)

Alex, no it's just a supermarket,  the huge shopping centre is directly behind us, over the hills and right by the mountains,  huge roads have gone in but no builds yet,  also have power station so i recon is muct be there...

thanks. Another supermkt hey - there will be a lot of them nearby then. Dont know where they expect all of the cutomers to come from. Carrefour is not too far away and that doesn't ever seem too busy.

It will be good if the 'biggest shopping centre' in Spain is within easy drive as that will surely increase the popularity of the area. 

Do you know if anyone has bought the land at Costa Galera which was originally intended for a hotel and if so what the plans are?

I can't find anything about the shopping complex, you would think there would be a lot of news on it in press,  I will keep hunting the web,  if it does go ahead it must be behind us as complex is huge and roads gone in are very wide..

The new supermarket will do well nothing else really near by and will be easy parking... 

The land at front ( My Duplex is right on it )  was sold by Labaro a few years ago,  they say that only a hotel can be built there, ifd that is really the case i can't see it happening when a 5* is just up road...

La Galera Park builders use it as a place to dump all there crap,  i ahve a huge hole in my line over view and the crazy thing is they didn;t even fill it with rubbish,  it's full of water and rubbish is all around it,  they have now gone so i can't see it getting filled,  kids play by it,  no good...

there is an article in The Resident. EU, although its still not much clearer to me where exactly in Estepona it will be. Just says north of the motorway. Have a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks for that,  i was shcoked to see Mayor of Estepona arrested as he was suppose to be one of the good ones, geez, i wonder
how many developments are illegal... 

If the New shopping is north of the motorway ( ie. Toll Road ) it has to be what i have seen, it's only place that looks like it's big enough... If you want to see it, 
head down costal road to Esso garage, head up to caseras and past Golf, follow road until you come to a white restaurant on left of road,  the NEXT right just past it has a sign saying ESTEPONA,  follow road until you come to a Brand new power station, park up on rooundabout and you will see what is happening there... 

The only prob is that it's on both sides of road, so can't see how model would work....i looked for more info on web but nothing,  other prob is go ahead was given in 2005, now in 2008 article says anotehr 3 years for build...

Hi Rob,

yes it will probably be another 5 years away (nothing seems to happen quick in Spain) but should be good for the area longer term. I do think the area will be great in the future but I think the next few years will be tough for the mkt and this area in particular as its further out. 

I have also heard of plans to expand estepona marina but dont know how true this is. 

With regards to rentals, I am considering my options at the moment but just a word of warning about long term lets, a lot of the tenants you can get out there are pretty untrustworthy to say the least. One scam is to pay 2 months upfront and then not pay again. It can be difficult to get tenants out in Spain (legally) and can take months through the courts so you need to be very cautious on who you are renting it to. 

Do you know how close the Dona Julia Golf Resort is to Costa Galera? I think its going to be close by and that is going to have one of the most luxurious hotels in Spain in the resort which again will be good for the area.

I heard there going to improve marian to take cruise ships,  can't see it myself, it's taken long enough to just improve part of it.  They are repainting the 
clock tower at mo... 

I also heard that about rentals, one guy on complex found out that cleaners from agency were living in his apt for a few days, i would make sure people
only use it if they have proper jobs and references...

DJ golf is in caseras, once again take round about at Esso garage and head up road towards caseras, you will see DJ golf on left hand side... Further up road on right you will find '  Finca Cortesin ' golf, now that looks very nice and will have a 5* hotel  ' http://www.golfcortesin.es/cortesin_ingles/main.htm ' 

I have mailed ' availablenow '  about renting but had no reply,  not to impressed,  property company in Estepona marina ( near enterance to port car park ) also never contacted me about rentals,  i waited all day for there rental lady to come round see apt, no call...aaghhhh

Available now contacted me today, they want to take on my apt, had a good chat with the guy,  he knows nothing about the shopping centre though, he did say nothing is selling and 100's of apts/houses are coming on market to rent,  nothing new there :-) 

Im going to have to go over and meet them, get pics and keys taken,  hopefully get some one in asap,  he said most i'd get is around 850 per month,  pretyy rubbish when my mortage/bills/fees are double that,  oh well...

Hi Rob,
Just as a vote of confidence we used available now and had no problems. OK it took a while to rent and the rent wasn`t fantastic but beggers can`t be chooser`s. We had a few problems with air-con and smell and they got these sorted for us asap as developer would not move fast enough  for us.

Im flying over on Monday and am going to set up a meet with them,  in between another agent contacted me about renting my apt, they
have a family looking to rent a penthouse from Aug 6th,  so im  hoping they take mine,  no news as yet... 

Does available now manage your apt ?? - PM me if you want... 

I totally understand about rent prices,  im still going to have to contribute about 500 euros per month but be better than
nothing...
