We have just returned from Spain where we found out that the phone number and email contact on the Rose Financial Services' web site are the personal contacts for Mark Mountney, who is no longer a Director at the company and is now working independently.

have spoken to both mark mountey and carol in rose financial services both paint poor pictures of each other , whos telling the truth, as yet i havent paid any money to either ,but mark has asked for 850 euros when he has recieved my documents

I wasn't aware of the problems with Rose Financial when I recommended them on EOS earlier my appologies for that, but for anyone wanting a mortgage in euros or pounds an english company I have dealt with in the UK who are very good are: http://www.mortgagesoverseas.com/ give them a ring or email them they are very professional.This message was last edited by KP on 7/27/2008.

No need to apologise! My email was purely to inform everyone that the contacts for Rose Financial Services had changed and nothing more. It's up to individuals to find a company they are happy with, check out a few and get quotes. We are paying 0.5% broker's fee and feel that is more than enough. You can use that as a benchmark, if you wish, to haggle!
WARNING: By the way, the banks do not charge admin fees to set up a mortgage, so do not let your broker charge you for that!

has any one used mark mountey for a morgage recently /he formaly worked for rose finance but now works alone apparantly with no office just a mobile phone i have a property on calas del pinar & mark is in the process of getting me a morgage & he wants 850 euros up front what shall i do

I have just been in touch with Mortgages Overseas that was recommended on here and found them to be very helpful indeed. They have sent me details of various mortgage products (in English!) and obviously I have the back up of the Finacial Services Authority on my side which I would not have if I took a Spanish mortgage, all my documents are in English they do charge a small fee for their service but to be honest it is worth paying as if I have any queries I just pick up the phone and ring the office in England. I find that most people spend more time deciding what mobile phone to buy than what mortgage product to buy!! Give them a try, it costs nothing!
