Has anyone had any touble with the solicitor that McAnthony recomend. Whenever we try to contact them by e-mail they do not seem to respond, is this a problem anybody else is having, we have only had one bank guarantee and we are tryng to get them to send the second one, we feel we should of had this by now since we paid our second deposit in june. Any feedback would be appreciated.

if its Martinez Echevarria I find them slow in responding - but they always do if I send gentle reminders.
It took quite a while to get our guarantees from the developer but eventually it came. Which solicitor are you dealing with?

Yes we are with Javier Marin at Martinez Echevarria, we sent a gentle reminder mid July no response then we sent another gentle reminder on 23rd August and still no response how long should we have to wait for them to even acknowledge that they have recieved our e-mails, is this how most spanish lawyers work. Just wondering wether we should look for another, can anyone recomend one?

Hi I am using the same solicitors for my first purchase and it went well. I have instructed them on another purchase but this time they are dragging their heels. Delays with holidays etc. They have not answered my last 3 emails and time is getting short on my 2nd property and I risk losing it.

rick did you purchase through McAnthony if so then the last time this happened and the solicitor would not reply we sent an e-mail to Regional Manager Darran Brown we got a very quick response and a phone call from the solicitor, looks like we may have to go down the same route again.Give it a try save you loosing your property.

Hi Thanks for the advice but the 2nd property isn't with Macanthony so I can't get them to give him a call. I only useed him a 2nd time as I don't know many spanish solicitors and he acted quickly on the 1st place. I think his 3 week holiday has given him a huge backlog of work.
It just so happen to coinside with this 2nd purchase.

We used M J Asesores in Aguilas, Murcia. They charge half the price of Macanthony's solicitor and are much quicker in responding. They are also pro-active in advising you about taxation matters etc. We have used them for three props and they have been very good. But above all they are INDEPENDENT of Macanthony.
