PHASE 2 - STARTED AT LAST

I was at La Torre over the Easter weekend and visited both Terrazas and the PW HQ. Some interesting bits of news and some photographs taken from all sides of the resort.

I went to terrazas on Friday 17th April . I got turned away by the security gaurd. I also walked around the place and the only thing i noticed that had been a change since my last visit 4 month ago  ...was the golf ....the rest just looked the same. I have purchased on phase 2    I paid  my first deposit Feb 2007 and i have paid the other 40% .The bottom line PW dont even have a building warrant in place or applied for. I also went to PW head office and then to the customer service department which is behind the glass building. I spoke to a girl in customer services and she said the apartment on phase 2 will be ready June 2010.This is a load of rubbish as i have just came from a 2 hour meeting with my lawyer who had checked the situation with PW before i met him. PW wont be completing this development they have sold 100 plus units on phase 1 to a company who will rent them out. I feel as PW dont care about there customers they didnt have the decency to contact me and let me know of any updates.They are more concerned in Condado . The only reason they started at work at Terrazes was there application for building at condado was late.Pw have also cancelled phase on Terrazes i think its phase 7 & 8. 

I have pulled out i have had enough of there lies and tacktics I am prepaired to take them all the way .

I have also been on to PW this week and have been told that Phase 2 has not been started yet. (We had originally bought a penthouse aptmt in October 2006). I subsequently emailed the sales office and they stated that I could look at the option of moving to another new property on either Mar Menor (more money) or Condado (not suitable for us).

I have therefore decided enough is enough and I want my money back......can anyone tell me if they are having any luck with this approach and what they are doing?????

Very confusing, when I was there a month ago they were only too happy to confirm that phase 2 has started and I drove around and beleive I have the photos to prove it..

I have subsequently been told by others that they have also seen lots of activity down the side where the penthouses are being built, including seeing concrete being poured etc etc.

Was it Customer Service told you the phase hadn't started? You often hear different things from different people there. Depends where your apartment is but I am pretty sure you are getting near the top of the queue - imagine being on phase 5 like yours truly!

Money back seems like a pipedream I'm afraid in alsmost all cases even when it is agreed by PW there are tales of more years waiting. Good luck.

Originally I was told that it was Phase 2 but I was also told that it would completed by December 2008!!!

Main problem is that I don't know what to do and who to believe!!! Is there any point involving someone like Watchdog who might go out and investigate / highlight the issue on behalf of a nos of us?????

If you are on the original phase 2 ( north east side of resort) we found out via the forum during spring 2008 that it is on indefinite hold.Polaris made no attempt to contact us about it- we did all the legwork ourselves, and I am not surprised that there may still be buyers around who are totally unaware of the situation.

We were not given an option to cancel - simply transer phase/ resort or wait indefinitely.Chose to transfer to Islands phase 4.

The new phase 2 is the north west side of the resort - and is indeed underway - see photos I uploaded to this site end April 2009.

I think something is definately bubbling in relation to phase 2 as my solicitor was contacted only last week by Polaris informing him that our property would be completed next year (2010).  It just seemed strange for them to contact him out of the blue when there has been no contact at all before this.....  hope this helps

I can confirm that the building has started at the North west side of the site. Which i guess is now refferred to as Phase 2.

I just returned home on Sunday and had walked past the site  through the golf course paths on a daily basis for 4 days. The Structure of the first Penthous is well on it way and i presume that the rest of the ongoing works was the laying of the foundations. There was work ongoing for the five days i was there which included the weekend.

Excellent photos available on Fotothis. Some showing definite construction on Phase 2 and some showing encouraging development on the course. Topped off with a couple of nice sunsets! The place really is beginning to look well.

We received this yesterday from Polaris world owners club

Having visited Terrazas in June and spent a hour on site (co-incidently without any problems gaining access) I would like to ask whether first quarter 2011 was stated by Polaris or is an educated guess by the writer? Only asking this as having worked in the property business for many years and the fact that when Polaris do get a move on, their transition from concrete frame to completed building is in the region of 10-12 months.

have to agree polaris do not hang about and with builders moving from mar menor soon it wont take long.not sure about what blocks are being built but by photos posted on another site seems the new blocks are opposite phase 1 .however the blocks 288 upwards are away from roundabout and not opposite phase 1.blocks 275 upwards are opposite phase 1.,have you got this the wrong way round or is it me being thick .

I am in bloque 287 and this row has def been started!!!

From speaking to Polaris World I would also agree that the 2011 timeline is totally wrong - Sav's timelines are looking closer to the mark.

Just to say we are on Phase 1 and general rule of thumb around completions has been 18 months from when they start, certainly what we experienced although contract completion extended due to habitation. From my visits I would say May 09 was the start so end 2010 to early 2011 would be a safe bet for planning. We are out again next week so hope to get more photos

contacted polaris customer services on thursday regarding building works on phase 2 as we have purchased a penthouse in block 291 which I thought was on phase 2 but having read the lead post  this phase stops at block 290 on checking my documents found out that our block 291 is on phase 12  having spoken to polaris they have assured me that block 291 on phase 12 has also started in conjunction  with phase 2  but with communication and not being there myself will  just have to wait till october when I next over there to confirm that this infomation is correct .PS have posted the loction of phases map on the photos section under terrazas

Hi PAWS and everyone!

We are in Block 286 so we will be close neighbours.  It's great to at last find someone who is in a block close by and who has probably gone through the same highs and lows we've experienced during the last 3 years.  Personally I planned to be in the last phase (originally phase 5) so that the complete development would have been finished by the time we moved in. PW told us 12 months ago that the whole of the rest after phase 1 would be completed together, but I can't see that. 

Also, I was annoyed that they decided to build apartments on the islands, so spoiling our view, but now I understand that this has been cancelled, so that is good news.

Being a simple guy, I have been ignoring news of building in the North or Northwest because looking at the site plan our blocks are in the south.  That is, if the site plan has been drawn with North up the page as is usual in the UK.  Can anyone confirm that please?

Where/ who has the information re Islands being cancelled???

We were out in April and were told by Customer Service that all was going ahead.

If this info is accurate I am heading for the gas oven!! No bank guarantee ( still!!), useless solicitor, and they have our money since  Jan 2006.

Please can someone confirm?

I'm repeating what Englishgeoff has stated. ie that he has received a refund because the town hall has refused to approve the island development.  I hope I've read this correctly, but if only PW were more open about what was going on there would be no confusion.
