Hi all at SG.  Can anyone recommend where a good satellite Tv company locally?  What sort of system works best on SG and any idea of costs?

Thanks

Hi Jane

We have recently had a micro dish satellite system installed from a company called Torresat and they have an office on the

"Parque Empreserial" just the other side of Los Alcazares.

The initial installation costs 250 Euros for the dish, satellite box and labour.

From then on it is 20 euros per month.

We now have sufficient english tv channels (about 40) and get BBC1, + 2, ITV1, Channel 4 and 5 plus a whole host of others.

We are very pleased with the package.

We are out to SG in 4 weeks time so you can come round and see for yourself if you wish.

Regards

Stella & Nigel

Hi Stella and Nigel, thanks for taking the time to help.  It's just so confusing with so many different types of systems available.   I won't be there in 4 weeks but appreciate your offer to see how it works.   Is yours a sky package or something different?

Hi Jane

Ours is not a sky package but the cost and convenience of Torresat worked for us.

I understand that a sky dish needs to be anout 1.8m diameter to receive uk tv, which we did not want on the solarium of our house.

Good luck with your search.

hi

I bought a second hand dish and receiver from someone moving house I have just had a satlite dish on the roof patio its a 1.5mtre dish however had a problem finding the satelite? the man said you realy need a 1.9mtr dish minimum as it makes all the difference.

the original receipt was still in the box and they paid 800 euro with fitting for the lot.

I put the dish up and ran the cable down to the TV it then just costs me 40 euro to have the dish aligned by a satelite company.

I thought this was a better idea as their is no monthly payments.

You can buy the dish and receivers local from 180 euro but the dish is too small and they wont work from sierra golf ? dont know why

we get  the UK free view chanels except BBC4 for some reason.

Regards

Similar request to Jane,

I'm looking for a 1.9m dish and quad LNB (around 0.3 db) - I can get one in the UK shipped for around £450, but life is easier if I can get it locally (I'd prefer a Portuguese dish as they have better build quality).

It's a self fit, so I don't want installation or a sky/freesat box - just the supply and delivery.

Any ideas/recommended suppliers?

Thanks

Andy

P.S. if there are any sky/freesat users in SG, could you let me know of your experiences? i.e. size of dish, channels that you can't get, channels that disappear in the evening - that sort of thing - thanks
