Hi guys,
Happy new year to you all.
I stayed on La Isla on early December and I counted around 6/7 cars on the island. Just wondering in terms of volumes how many people have completed? It might have been coincidence but most of the people I saw was Spanish.

Hi Mark,
We completed in Block 7 at the end of October but as we were in the US at the time we couldn't get down there. Had planned to go down in early December but that had to be cancelled too. We've done the snagging but no furnishing or electric etc yet and we need to organise a builders clean. So right now our place is just sat there lierally an empty shell and it doesn't look like we'll be able to get down now until at least April.
Expensive thing to have sat there not being used...!!
Cheers, Julian & Julie

Hi Julian & Julie,
Same here to be honest as I have only been back once since we completed. I am feeling more confident about the whole Polaris news due to the fact that I have completed. By the time I can start to spend a more significant amount of time on Condado then hopefully more of the facilities will be complete.
La Isla just seems so very quiet but hopefully things will start to pick up towards the summer period.
If you need a good contact for electrics, etc, as I have been very happy with the couple I use who also key hold for me as well.
Do you work in the US or was it holiday?

Mark.... The US was just a week's break in the sun. We had planned to use that week in Spain getting the place habitable as completion should originally have happened in August. However, as things got put back I just had this feeling that it would clash with the completion (as it did) and that was never going to allow us a bit of P&Q so we just decided to give POA to the solicitor and let them deal with it.
I'd be happy to receive any recommendations you may have. There's seemingly so many options out there but it's always best if you know that someone has first hand experience. If you can p/m me that would be great.
As for Club La Isla, I don't think it will happen at all. I just can't see why they'd go ahead with it now that the Clover Bar & restaurants are relatively close by in Al Kasar. Shame really as I was so happy when I first bought with all the promises that were made for La Isla. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they start the other course(s) around La Isla as right now it's just a dust bowl but we remain optimistic..!!
Luckily, we never bought with a view to rental income, it's just a bolt hole for us and friends & family if they want to use it.

Hi All
We have been out twice since completion, and every time we were there, more things going on, and more people around, we were last out in November, and meet lot of new faces, some english, some spanish, and a couple from belguim, so think good mix, we are out again on 11th, so looking forward , we spoke to PW last, and were told, golf course would start some time March/April, the 3rd pool and club house, some time this year, I don't think the financial situation will be problem, as I work for Eurotunnel, and they went through same procedure, it is in everyones interest, that they sort it out to the best for all, and this means providing best facilities for the complex, so have to keep positive, will be happy to recommend people to clean, key hold, and odd jobs if needed.
Regards
Michael and Yvonne

My wife and I completed back in September in Block 3 but unfortunately we have not yet been able to return as yet. We are hoping to arrange air conditioning soon and then furnish so that we may be able to holiday in August with our 2 boys. On the whole we are very happy with our apartment and hopefully the 2nd course will go ahead this year - if it does I think this will have a huge impact on La Isla.

Hi All
We completed in September on La Isla block 3 and we have met our neighbours from each side who are both Spanish but speak good English,We have been out a couple of times and we are happy with our apartment but still feel that there is still a bit of work needed around La Isla to get it up to standard. I also dont think they will build the club as the clover etc is so close but am hopeful that the second golf couse will still go ahead.Going back out soon for a couple of days and hope to have a game of golf on the new course. regards Pat & Jackie block3

hi
I completed back in mid-Sep and went over to La Isla at the start of Dec. Whilst there i spoke to Sergio at the PW office regarding future development of the site. As per the earlier post he confirmed that PW were aware that La Isla owners have generally been disappointed with the site but that work on the second golf course will commence this spring - although it may take upto 12 months before it is completed - work on the 3rd course will commence thereafter. Sergio also stated that work WILL begin on the Club La Isla this Mar/April.
I think PW know that they need to ensure these developments go ahead so that they maximise their own investment in the site.
For anyone that needs a maintenance company i would recommend Craig Lister (Extract Property Maintenance). Craig offers a range of services & installed my lighting / shower screen / bathroom extractor and also took care of small jobs such as hanging mirrors / pictures etc. He can also supply & fit the digital tv boxes at a cheaper price than PW.
Craig's wife - Nikki - runs a keyholding & cleaning company and I chose them as they live on site, offer a good service but also their rates are very competitive.
Send me a P/M if you would like their contact details.
Regards
San

Hi,
We completed back in August and have been out 3 times since, and due to go out again in a few weeks time. I agree La Isla is very, very quiet at the moment, but when you walk round the island, most of the properties look as if they have yet to be visited by owners for even the 1st time, and I don't realistically think we will start to experience volume occupation for a good few years.
Personally I think it is great that so many Spanish appear to have bought on La Isla, from all those I have met they are fantstic family oriented people with a great atitude to their properties. I would have been concerned if I had bought into a "Little Britain" island colony, and hope the Spanish population will help to keep the Spanish feel and appeal real !
I feel for La Isla, we can expect gradual progression in the development of facilities and infrastructure, and would rather this is done properly than purely aestheitically.
We are delighted with our little bit of Spain and look forward to seeing it mature into the type of environment we expected when we bought.
For my money Club La Isla will be built, when - hopefully sooner than later.
Keep the faith !

Dear All
I have just returned from another weekend on La Isla as I had a problem with my aircon pre-installation so I was without heating in my apartment and it was freezing !! The air vents above the patio doors & windows let in a really big draught but as far as I know there is no way to shut them.
I think that this would make it both difficult & very expensive to heat the apartment during the colder months - whether you use convector / electric radiators or your aircon.
Does anyone have a suggestion to overcome this problem ?
Thanks
San

Dear All
Completed in Sept. Have been back 3 times. My partner, who has just informed me is a good golfer (hmmm) is really pleased with the golf course and on our last visit it was really busy - good news for an embryionic development - me thinks.
We have a norwegian neighbour - who has also visited the island 3 times since completing. Maybe the Spanish families will emerge in the summer months.
We are back end of March - hope to see more Islanders then.
