Hi there, like you Kate, we're looking for help with furniture, etc. We're going out in just over a week so any pointers would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

hi out there , I just thought it was a good idea on security , I have heard it is recommended that you change the barrel on the lock on your front door , as a lot of people could have access to your apartment ie builders etc , just as a safety precaution , ( thought it was worth mentioning)

Kate, it is a good idea to change the barrel but be aware, when the builders no longer have access will they be unable to carry out any ongoing repairs/snagging that crops up. They may then not want to know. Chicken and egg syndrome!!

Hi All,

We completed in July on phase 1 and spent a good few days looking around for furniture.  There is not much choice but the best place we found was Poniente in Aguadulce who specialise in furniture for apartments.  There are a number of furniture shops near the Gran Plaza on the road from Aguadulce to Roquetas and a place in El Ejido call radiovision that does furniture packages.  I did find a company in Almerimar that does furniture packages but there was not much of a selection, unless you like wicker. We bought a bed in Roquetas as well.
Sorry if this post is a bit late but I hope it helps.

All the Roger

Re furniture shops etc.

The following shops are in El Ejido:

El Hogar del Descanso, in the main Boulevard and opposite the Town Hal Square, sells beds and lounge furniture.

Barrionuevo Hogar, also in the main Boulevard at No. 127, sells beds, bed heads and bedside tables and also lounge furniture.

In the same Boulevard there is Ferretería Palmero, a one stop shop for cutlery, crockery, frying pans and many other kitchen items including electric irons and toasters. Well worth a browse.

Finally, LIDL Supermarkets have a shop in Avda. del Oasis No. 303.

Happy shopping!!!!
