Hello folks
I am new to the forum.  Paid my deposit 5 years ago, PW cancelled my first property so I moved to the Islas.  From what I can gather this apartment has now gone the same way - PW are contcating people asking them to move away (either to Condado or completed Terrazas properties) as there is no intention of building, no start date and no planning permission and they were taken off the market about 8 months ago.
Does anyone have a name and e-mail address of someone with at Polaris World I can speak with regarding this matter, they just ignore my phone calls, e-mails and requests logged on PW website ‘contact us’?
If you are in a similar position can you advise whether you have got a refund or changed properties and how you went about this?
Would be grateful for any assistance on forum or please feel free to PM me – in strictest confidence of course.
Regards
Simon G

Hi Simon

We have been through the wringer also, we originally started on Condado (first time around) then Condado was pulled as they didn't have the building licences etc, we then moved to Terrazas phase 3 this was in 2006.  A couple of year later phase 3 Terrazas was cancelled and we moved to the new phase 2 Terrazas.  In January this year we staged a sit in at Polaris head office until we was told what our options were.  To cut a long story short even though we was on the new phase 2 Terrazas and they had built a lot of phase 2 they hadn't even started my particular block and there was no guesstimate of when it would be started if ever!!  Whilst the time delay actually suited us at first as it gave us breathing space to pay off the deposit, we really need to know where we were up to and what our options were given the current uncertainty of Polaris.

We took the option to move to Condado to a key ready property and can I just say hand on heart we are really chuffed with our new apartment and each time we have been moved we have had a discount from Polaris so we are also really happy with the final price of our apartment on Condado and it is in prime position golf front.

Whatever they offer you by way of discount to move to another key ready property don't be afraid to ask for more!!  also ask for discount at Homestyle whether it be furniture packs, white goods or air con it is surprising what you can get when you play hardball with them.......      All I would say is keep an open mind and see what they are offering and then ask for more!!

Hope this helps

 Hi Simon

We paid the initial deposit  on a property on Terrazas in 2007.The apartment is supposed to be ready awaiting certification. We are also having difficulty contacting anyone at Polaris World. What I find worrying is how much of the resort will ever be completed as you now say Islas has been cancelled . This must also be a concern for people who have already completed their purchase.

Simon,

We too are in exactly the same situation. Polaris World silence is deafening. We too have bought on Phase 2 Penthouse and no worked has started. No start date, no bankers guarantee, no reply to emails but I will be at their head office on Monday, but hold no hope of getting any information. I have a lawyer checking now with town hall to see what phases they have permissio to build. We want out now to buy in La Torre and will fight. Given that Scotland are not in world cup then I have loads of time to stage a sit in. They are a complete joke, But fight we will, and hopefully gain a result. Many people on the forum have been really helpful and this keeps us going. We have rented again on La Torre for a sixth time as we love the concept but as time goes on it really is disheartening. Just as well I was born in Derry and was taught never to give up a fight especially when we are the ones on the receiving end. Hopefully someone maybe even the man upstairs will touch PW hearts and sort out this mess and treat us all with the respect we deserve. Watch the news as I MIGHT not remove mysef from their office on Monday just like the SMIVS, but then again I might be mistaken for an employee. Keep the chin up and we all need to stck together, As they say in Ireland GOOD LUCK.

Michael
