Completion

Hi all,

we went over 2 weeks ago to complete on our apartment in block 285. Collection of the NIE numbers went well and glad it was organised for us. PW took us to Murcia Police Station where we were able to jump the enormous queue outside, and the process went very smoothly. We snagged later that day, deciding to do it ourselves. All was fine and only comments were mainly getting rid of paint splashes and plaster blemishes on the tiles inside and out. We attended the Notary next day in Torre Pacheco and although it took about 2 hours was a relatively straight forward experience. The main problem we hit was that there was no electricity supplied to the block, so have been unable to install white goods or test out electrics. If anyone gets wind of this being connected could they let us know.

We have had air-con installed using ClimaZone, who came across as friendly, helpful & professional. I hope it works when we get the elec turned on!!

We have found a very good electrical shop in Roldan. Good range of goods and helpful staff. We ended up buying a garden table and chairs there. Its sign-posted from the TDLT access road and very easy to find. Worth checking out.

Plenty of work on-site. Penthouse blocks finished are Nos 285 - 293, and they are also erecting the Penthouse blocks between Phase 1 and our phase. Also cranes were being erected on the Island so looks like work will commence on there.

Town Centre was finished from the outside, but no sign of any occupation.

Didn't see the Supermarket? Can anyone advise where this is situated?

All in all, I was very impressed, and have no regrets about the purchase. Would have been nicer if it had been delivered on time, but we're getting there.

Planning to go back in Sept / Oct and hope to be using it then. If anyone wants to ask any questions feel free to get in touch. I know this site has been invaluable to me to aid the whole process.

Hi,

The supermarket  and the temporary club house and the post boxes are all in the same place. When you drive into Terrazas instead of taken the first right by the roundabout go straight down the road and it,s on the right hand side, you see the post boxes first the supermarket is on one side the bar is on the other side.

We completed on our appartment in 288 with the same positive experirence as javabean. We did the snagging ourselves, the major problem being 2 chipped tiles on the patio. Electricity seems to be a problem with none to the appartment or to pools, that are a bit green.

The Golf Course is looking good, we were told that it will be opened in September. Has anyone any better info on this?

Hi,

 When we were over 2 weeks ago the pools on phase 2 were not looking very good, i have one on the side of my apartment and when i had a good look around it the tiling around the edges are very sharp not rounded and some of the tiles were broken also there is still lumps of cerment between the tiles and the grass, the tiled area is not very big and there is quite a gap between tiles and grass. The pools are not up to the same standed as La Torre. I have sent a email to customer services about this but have not had a reply yet. If i had young children to take i wood not  consider it save around the tiled area. Has anyone else had a chance to look at the pool area.

Hi Dave

We sent a e-mail to customer service at  Polaris regarding when the electricity supply will be on and will the lifts be working in block 291 have  just had a reply saying that our electrcity meter has been connected and we( Polaris )are just waiting for confirmation that your water meter has been connected .So I take it that if the elec meter has been fitted there must be power on  but no reply re lifts working

Hi,

we've just had the same email saying that the electric meter has been connected, but not the water meter. Although we did have water flowing when we snagged earlier this month which we were told was builders supply.

I have an electrician installing my lights this week so hopefully I'll get confirmation from him.

Hi, we have finally got a completion date of our apartment on Terrazas de la Torre as 31st July. We cannot make the date at such short notice and now extra money is due because of the tax rise. Not only that we haven't been approved for a mortgage as the banks are still being very cautious. Is anyone else being pressed to complete as Polaris seem more than happy to have someone or you sign before snagging just as long as they get their money. We have only been informed this week by our solicitor so feel after waiting 3 1/2 years that a weeks notice to complete is a bit of a rush. We are due to go out on holiday on the 20th August for 2 weeks but have been advised by our solicitor that we msut press for the end of July to save Polaris taking further action. Not quite the calm laid back approach they have taken when we have called, emailed and visted to see when they will or if they will complete. I am interested to see if anyone is in the same boat as we cannot be alone in this.

Hi Saladstar,

I'd tell PW that they haven't given you enough notice and tell them you'll be out on your August dates and for them to make appointments for you then. As you say we've waited 3.5 years for them, another couple of weeks should make no difference. I'm surprised your solicitior isn't more supportive of your position.

Thanks Javabean. Yes to be honest and a bit shocked as the solicitor came highly recommended. Not one for swapping and changing but we will see how far Polaris push and how far the solicitor will back us. Its a bit worrying considering all of us have been sat waiting patiently with the attitude what will be will be. I know people are completing about now so just wondering if anyone else has come up against this or is a scare mongering process to get the money in before the end of July...... To be honest both my husband and I have just about come to the end of our patience with it and the dream is still a slog to get. I am sure it will all be worth it once all done and dusted and we sit back with our vino tinto on our balcony.!

 If you are thinking of changing your solicitor our,s was excellent it,s Mare Nostrum based in Los Alcazares, they are also in charge of the community on Mar Menor phase 2. We gave them power of attorney we did not have to do a thing, other than to collect the keys from them. You might have to bare in mind that some companies are closed in Aug it,s there holiday month. I know our solicitor is closed from the 9/8/10 to 23/8/10, If you need there contact details let me know.

Hi all,

Just to confirm, I spoke to my electrician on Thursday and he confirmed electric was on. I also noted a withdrawl from my account for around 160 Euros to IB COMERCIALIZACION DE LTIMO RECURSO which I'm assuminmg is the connection charge (although when I Google Translate this I get MARKETING OF LAST RESORT ??
