Hi all,

Has anyone heard what is happening about the Golf Course on Terrazas? I was under the impression that some of the course would be open during October-10. I know this dates keeps changing - but does anyone have an update?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi,

Sorry got caught up with everything when i got back.

Just a quick update, we did get to play the course, and free of charge. Think this is open until 10th October. They are just setting the fees, and there will be an owners discount. Ola golf have been brought in to  run the golf course, and the representative was very helpful.

There are no signs yet to the next tee, or score cards , or maps of the course! So it was a bit chaotic! However after having our apartment now for nearly two years we were very glad to see the golf course open.

There was talk of owners fees of 40 euro for nine holes and fifty for 18. We do not think this is totally decided yet. They will also be offering a weekly play as much as you want , and possibly an annual deal.

All work is still progressing, out again in 3.5 weeks, so hope to see even more progress. Wood house still not open!!!!

 Thanks Mot,

That's really good to know; I'll be back in Spain in December, so will let you know how things are looking!

Good news though.

Hi all

Just returned from 2 weeks at TLTGR.  The place is looking fantastic, didn't get a chance to use my free round of golf as I am injured at the moment but did walk and cycle most of the course and it looks very good, and very challenging.  The town centre and old Hacienda are also coming along nicely and the shop was opened on TLTGR the second week of my stay, the girl who runs it had been ill, hence the reason it was closed the previous week.  She told me that she has been told that her store within the new Town Centre will be completed and ready for her to move into mid December! All sounds good.  The woodhouse bar was still not opened which is a real shame as the golf course was quite busy while we were there and this means that golfers can't enjoy a drink or snack before and after their round, but also that the resort is losing out as I am sure all residents would use the facilites when they are eventually opened.  I also heard that all the La Torre bars and restaurants have been put out to tender and may be opening again  and NOT run by by Polaris World, which can only be a good thing for price, quality and serivce.

They are progressing well with the island apartments and the lake looks spectacular.  Spoke to the pro and he advised that interim prices are €50 for non residents and €40 for residents for 18 holes, which is very reasonablbe.  Also spoke to some people who played the course and all said it was excellent, and not like most new courses, already looking quite mature.

Can't wait for my next visit :D

 Thanks Kim,

That's a really good response and nice to hear that the complex is coming on well... Do you have any recent photo's of the Hacienda, Town Centre or Golf Course?

I'm going to be out there late December, so I will be able to provide an update for everyone - and I'll get some photo's as-well.

It does sounds as if work is coming along nicely...

Has anyone actually played the course yet?  I e-mailed to book a Tee Time for when we are over for Christmas and received the following response:

Good afternoon,
The course is still closed and unfortunately we don’t know yet the official date. You could play Alhama or Mar Menor instead.
Best Regards

As owners on Terrazas we are keen to play the course when we visit for the first time since the course was opened.  We will be there Friday 24 to Sunday 26 December,  Will the course be open during this time?

Regards,

Hi All,
I emailed the pro shop and Oligolf and got the same pat answer, ie hope to open again January but can't give a definite date.

I can only suggest as many residents as possible keep phoning / emailing these people so that they know there is some pressure for them to open. If we remain silent it smacks of a lack of interest.

Here's the email addresses I used
reservasgolfmarmenor@olagolf.es
info@olagolf.es

Back out again in March and can't wait given the lousy cold weather here at the moment.

Hi guys,

I am going to TLTGR on Boxing day - so I will also be emailing/phoning Olagolf to pile on the pressure about opening the golf course.

on a slightly different not; I was looking at the Olagolf website the other day and noticed that the website was pretty poor and uncomparable to Polaris World's http://www.nicklausgolftrail.es website, which is pretty good - and gives lots of information on booking details. OlaGolf then told me about their golfing website (IRM Golf). OlaGolf said that information will be posted on this website about when Saurines will be re-opening: http://www.irmgolfexperience.com

This website holds information on all three Golf Courses owned by OlaGolf in the Murcian region; Saurines De La Torre, Mar Menor Vilage Golf and Alhama Signature Golf.

Fingers crossed it will open soon!

Hi all

Just back from a few days at TLTGR.  Things looking great.  It apears that the technical issue which closed the golf course was them changing the layout of the course after suggestions from a number of people who had played it.  I think the new layout is much better than the original one, so obviously they had to close it until new cards have been printed etc.  They have also put up new tee and hole numer marker posts with bins and ball washers attached and there are now benches at each tee.  Although course not yet opened the green staff were out every day working.

There also appears to be some tables and chairs which have appeared inside the temp clbhouse which were not there before so hopefully they will open that too when the course re opens.

Also, more positive news for everyone.......there is a bar/restaurant which has been fully fitted out in the town centre and the supermarket sign is also up and they were working in it fitting out the fridges etx so it looks like soon enough we will have a fully functioning supermarket and somewhere to go for food, drink and socialising.  The bar is in theme of New York, Irish Italian and is quite big, with doors leading out onto the square at the south side of the building. It is called Coppola's. :D ca't wait till my next visit next month now.

Best wishes

The IRM website has been altered to say "Upcoming opening" against the Saurines Course. Lets hope its not the usual Spanish timespan.

Fingers x'd

Dave.
