Hi all,
just back from 2 weeks in our apartment on phase 2 of Terrazas. First time we have actually stayed in our apartment and have to admit we really enjoyed it, and the weather was fantastic - hot and sunny almost every day.
Golf course opened on 1st October and, as per the golf thread, I managed to wangle a couple of free rounds (plus a number of evening visits to play the holes near our apartment). I thought the course condition was excellent (considering just opened), and the afternoon wind makes the course very tough (not to mention the carvernous bunkers). Managed to leave 5 balls in the lake at the side of 18 (currently hole 11). They had put temporary hole numbers on the tees by the time we left.
I have put some photos on the photo section, but in summary my observations are; the apartments between phase 1 and the roundabout (block 285, where we are) are all up. Several have had the outer shells done and the guys were fitting out. The blocks up the road to the town centre were not being worked on while we were there. Main other activity is on the blocks on the island which have developed enormously since our last visit in July. There was a little activity on the town centre, but not a lot. Shop was open in the mornings for our second week. Obviously only a temporary arrangement and pretty basic. The pro shop is next door to the Wood House and was just an empty shell (no till, no stock etc) while we were there. They has set up some portakabin type loos and showers next door. No sign of extending the penthouses past the current phase 2 block. We went to PW Head Office to collect our "snagging key" and commented about the lack of tv, communal pools, communal lighting etc, and their comment was that it was because they had 2 phases on the go, neither which was finished, which was complicating the hand-over to the resort management co. Overall, the site was pretty quiet with only 1 or 2 apartments occupied in any block. I was very suprised when we visited phase 1 to see how many apartments (I'd guess around 75%) hadn't had their electrics done (based on the bare wires in the patio lights).
Having said all that it was really nice breakfasting on our patio and watching the golfers go by, and we have met some our our new neighbours. Looking forward to our return trip next Spring.
Dave & Pam.
