I have bought a flat in La Medina de Banus development, and am looking to get in touch with other buyers. I will be visiting the development last week of March07 to check on the progress of the construction. If any buyers will be there, or live in that area, I'd like to meet up and have a chat about it over a drink.

regards

Milko

Hi,

I live in Dublin and purchased in Medina de Banus last year on a trip.  I have just come back last week and the Medina de Banus site is embargoed.  I have made enquiries and it appears after the Mayor was sacked for corruption and some Lawyers were jailed the town Council was disbanded and a period of what's know as silent administration followed in which builders used this opportunity to develop on the licences issued under the corrupt council.  Since then several sites have been embargoed, including Medina de Banus.  One estate agent told me that they are building twice the density allowed on the site, but when I spoke to Arthur Jones in Viva he insisted that they were exactly according to density.  There are now elections in May and Viva insist that new licences will be issued and everything will be in order.  Until then this site is embargoed.  My Solicitor Raul Saurez assures me he has no concerns about this developer and Mike Knowles of Viva (now left) told me Prosavi were excellent developers.  I am about to go on the forum for Sierra Blanca and check with Raul Saurez that the "bank guarantee" is solid.  I have concerns, but feel that the issues will be resolved.  I cannot find information on Prosavi on the internet that is comprehensive.  Any information appreciated.

Hi, I just visited the development and they are now going full steam ahead and all is looking great. The developers informed me that they are back on schedule and looking at the progress made recently with the building work I can imagine they are right. Regards Trevor

I am a Lawyer and I had last week a client interested in purchase in this development and I was cheking the legal situation in the Town Hall.

They developer applied the building license in 2003, they had several problems with it and it was not granted until June 2007.

They started the building works without a building license and the works was stopped by the Town Hall in June 2006.

In February 2007 the Town Hall stopped againg the building works because the developer restarted again the buiding works without the license.

They have got building license from June 2007 and the developer confirmed me by writting that they calculate that the developmnet will be finish by the first quarter of 2009.

I do not know the private contracts that you signed but perhaps you will have a court case against the developer becuse of the delay in the buiding works.

Anyone interested in more information can contact me through PM or on jose0107@lawbird.com .
