Hi all,
Just back from 10 days in our apartment on Terrazas (phase 2).
As expected, it was pretty quiet from a residential angle. As far as we could see there may have been 1 or 2 other residents in phase 2 when we were there, and less than a dozen cars visible on phase 1.
Golf course looking good, fully signed, with benches, ball cleaners etc. Pro shop is still pretty sparse and the little cafe next door was open but not doing much business. Had 1 round and only lost 2 balls (but found 2, so consider that a victory). Full round was 50 Euros for residents, with twighlight rounds of 35 Euros after 2.30. No sign of practice green or any other practice facilities which I intend to try and nag them about. Was a reasonable amount of traffic going round it.
Coppolas was open occassionally, and even managed to get a drink in there. Its very impressive and they certainly haven't skimped on the fittings. No draught beer available when we visited so made do with a bottle. Supermarket is still in the temporary position and open mornings only (approx 10:00 - 14:00). Ok for essentials. We used Torre Supermarket when we couldn't be bothered venturing further. New Supermarket appears to be getting nearer to completion.
No visible active work on the phase 2 apartments between us and phase 1. About three blocks finished, plus one near the town centre. The rest have been left as skeletal shells. Most of the activity focussed on the Island. Looks like they're painting these Terracotta. Have put a few pics on this site mainly taken from our balcony.
As always, thought the security team were effective, visible and friendly.
Weather was mixed. Hailstones at one point! Got a few days of good sunshine but was pretty cool as we were leaving. We found our apartment was quite cold, and although we have installed air con with hot & cold, we went out and bought an oil filled radiator for the bedroom (air con a bit noisy for sleeping), and a thick duvet for winter usage.
Got a few quotes for fly screens, and have settled on ALK who are a local firm sitiuated between Torre Pacheco and Alcazares. Arranging installation when we're back in June so let you know how that goes.
