Hi - what are the current options for getting WIFI internet access in your apartment at Condado? I seem to recall there was someone advertising on the forum offering this service?
I'm heading out tomorrow and would like to sort out WIFI access whilst I'm there if possible
Thanks, Steve

Thanks. I'd seen that Phil could provide mobile internet but was thinking more on the lines of a ADSL based broadband service with WIFI router. I've got a mobile hotspot I use at home and the service is variable to say the least.
What's people's experiences of mobile internet at Condado?

Hi
I used mobile internet last year on Condado and I had mixed results. While roaming on Vodafone ES, I could only get GPRS not 3G while on Condado, I can’t speak for the other carriers. In the urban centres near the coast or great population areas the coverage was better with 3G and 3G+ was available. Maybe their roll out plan for 3G in the Alhama area has improved from last year. What might add value to Condado is some plan around a Wifi Mesh solution for the apartments with sensible tariffs for infrequency visitors! Not sure if the business case would add up though for the service provider.

Depending on where you are exactly on Condado you can get a 3G signal. The penthouses get the best signal and get a download speed between 2 and 3 MB. The Jardines 1 to 5 get a good signal as well.
In all the others in will depend on the exact location of you apartment, some get a good signal whilst others do not, so it's always best to check.
I do Wifi/3G routers which can then be place in the apartment where there's the best signal and then multiple devices can all share the 3G connection, great if you have multiple laptops or iPad/iTouch etc

We went for the Polaris Telecom option which is a cable modem based delivery system. Good throughput, reasonable prices and flexible (you can switch it on and off on a month by month basis once you pay the initial installation fee). The only downside was a pretty unreliable installation appointment system (got it at the 3rd attempt).

Hi Jihem
This was last year and I have checked my emails and got the following:-
One time costs:-
-CABLE CONNECTION: 68.97€ +VAT one payment
-WIRELESS CONNECTION: 142€+VAT one payment
Then, per month it is €15+VAT if you sign up for 18 months or €25+VAT per month if you want to pay month by month. You just send them an email in advance and electronically transfer funds in advance of the activation date.
We went for the cable connection and use our own wifi router.
Cheers
Stuart.
