Does anyone have any idea when this complex will be finished. We were there at the begining of June all cranes were at a standstill? Apart from the supermarket there is nothing there, getting worried now wondered if we made the right decision.

Finished in the sense of "all buildings built as per original plan" - I would say not in the next 10 years (if ever). However, I get the impression they are building blocks in small lots as they sell them. The Islands are just about finished and have heard people are going through the handover process. The more residents we get on the resort hopefully the greater demand and pressure for the infrastructure facilities which are sadly lacking at the moment.
Lat time we were over (June) we met more people than ever before so it feels like it's starting to pick up now as new residents move in. We are very pleased with our apartment and have lovely views front and back, although a bar in the town centre would be great to stroll to and have the odd beer or two.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the information, our apartment is very nice too. I guess the place might be a bit livelier in the next couple of months, although we have been told that August is far too hot. Thank goodness we found the local train station curtesy of one the security guards. Did you buy your furniture from spain? we are thinking of using DFS.

I would also give SFS in Pilar a try. Matt and Nicky are both extremely helpful and can make things a lot easier for you in the long run.
I am over next week and will be popping in there to see what offers he has on. Stock is constanly changing. Last visit I had a bathroom cabinet from them. Some of my neighbours have also purchased them as well.

I would agree that the service and help from Matt and Nicky at SFS is excellent. I completed this time last year, visited their shop and went back out in September to find my own little show apartment. Everything was in place, beds made and even towels on bottom of the beds. matt had even arranged the air conditioning andinstallation of an additional power socket in the kitchen
They made the whole experience seam effortless and I found their prices extremely competative and it's meant I'm now enjoying my place rather than having to trudge round shops and wait in for delivery men.

We've bought our stuff from various sources. The beds from DFS, and would recommend them for their service and prices. We've bought kitchen and dining room furnture from Ikea in Murcia. The good part about that is that we can check out what we want in our local Ikea, and then are better prepared to negotiate the difficulties of the Spanish Ikea. Electrical goods mainly from Electro Regalis in Roldan (great service) or the new Worten electrical store in San Javier (in the Dos Mares shopping centre).

Aagh post boxes. Basically, at some point PW will install post boxes in the town centre. Phase 1 have got some installed by the temporary pro shop. I have been badgering PW for the past 12 months for ours. Their latest reply said they would be installed over the Summer..... but don't hold your breath.
I am told that any post is delivered to Roldan Post Office who hold it for 15 days before returning it. The two times we've been to the Post Office we never got to establish this as the first time there was an enormous queue, and the second time it was shut (when it should have been open).
Welcome to Spain!!
