This is a very important point to raise on the forum and I wish to share the text of a mail I have sent to all Terrazas owners:
We are getting close to the Resort AGM on 6th December so please try to attend and make your voice and vote heard. And if you can´t, please make sure you give your Proxy vote to someone you trust.
The Committee which has been working for you this year is Barbara Goodwin from La Isla, Henry Reed from Phase 2, Richard Flukes from Phase 12 and myself, Nic Whittington, from Phase 1.
We have worked to keep the resort in good condition, to ensure that the services we buy are most effective and at the best price we can achieve, that the resort continues to develop with the new facilities we can afford and that it is a pleasant place to be. Our work is entirely voluntary and we receive no payment or expenses for our work on behalf of the community.
We are all willing to stand again for a year more, but it must be your choice to elect new Block Presidents and Phase presidents.
Some of the points we have achieved in 2014 are:
-
a new one year contract with Serviseg, keeping our known security staff and adding the extra guard at night for 10 months of the next year
-
the court case against the Torre Pacheco town hall requiring them to adopt the resort is started and at the same time we have had meetings with them which have been positive
-
a simple football pitch for children is in place and has been well used
-
court cases against the Polaris World companies are now in the court process. Our expectations though cannot be high
-
a number of contracts have been to tender and we have achieved better services/prices
-
our economic status remains satisfactory and apart from PW our outstanding debt level is low.
So please act now to ensure your voice is heard. Needless to say I will be attending the AGM.
Nic Whittington
Phase 1 and Community Prsident 2014.
