Hi: I am MMGR II apartment owner. We've been recently received some information about the refurbishing works that the "Community of Owners" want to do in the resort and we've received a project which will be voted in May - June this year.
The point is that each building will have to support a budget of approx. €170,000. Being around 30 owners per building this means a cost of around €6,000 which may probably be higher given the fact that those who do not pay will be subject to a judiciual claim but their cost will initially be distributed between those who pay...
I'm fine with doing some urgent works at the buildings (i.e. like painting, etc.) but many of the works aren't really necessary and I am sure that a much more adjusted budget could be obtained, also limited to those necessary repairs.
This will have to be voted in June and in accordance with the Spanish Law if there's a majority of owners voting "yes" all the owners will be forced to pay for the works... In the meetings of the Community of Owners you may expect 10% / 20% of the owners appearing and / or voting, so I am really concerned that this could be approved given the fact that the banks hold many of the apartments and could vote "yes" (and of course they will assure to vote in the Meeting).
Does anyone share my view??? Any opinions about this????
