Hi, we were wondering if anyone else has had a letter from Taray about completion. Our house was due to be completed in Jan 07 but we got a letter from Taray yesterday to say that it is ready from the end of September!

As we're buying through Parador it will be several more weeks before they have done all their checks etc. but it looks as though we'll be going out to Spain sooner than we thought.

So much for the rumours about the slowness of Spanish builders!! If anyone is due to go out in the next couple of weeks we'd be grateful if you could let us have a look at any photo's you've got, especially no. 41.

C&J, we also have a letter quoting 30th September, but we had a contract date of 16th October and were therefore hoping for it about now. We don't have a third party agent - we bought directly from Taray - so we're ready to go to completion now. Our spanish lawyer says she will guide us thro' the process including acceptance of the property, transfer of the developers mortgage and the snagging process. We're going out on 29th October for a few weeks to complete the sale and move in and will be happy to take photos then. We're taking the laptop with us - Ryanair permitting - so we should be able to post them on the website whilst we're out there.

Like you, this is not really what we expected from spanish developers as we know of others who suffered delays of 1/2 years. I'll hesitate congratulating Taray at this stage until we've seen the finished product.

this news could be good depending on if you have everything in place.

some friends where out 2 weeks ago and got some pictures for us but we got them printed off  and i have no scanner to put them on the computer but by looking at the picture your house it has been rendered.

Our house is apparently sorted inside but needs rendering.

We are out in 10 days so we will have a look for you.

we hope you are all sorted because we are not there, and a letter like that would give us a heart attack

We are Pete & Mave and have purchased semi detatched No118 to live in. This is contractually due for completion Aug 07 but having read some of the letters it appears that Taray are in front of their targets. We are going out for 3 days next Wednesday (11th) and are happy to take photos of any house for you if you let me know which numbers are required. One problem, I dont't know how to post them to the site so if anyone can tell me how to do this I will have a go when we return.

Thanks to Martin & Lousie (no. 55) for the photos! The site is really progressing well.

I've been speaking to someone who's bought, and moved into, 2 of the properties in the first phase and he says that the fit and finish on the completed houses is excellent (like the showhouse) and there was very little snagging required. He owns a number of properties in the region (including villas at the Polaris World Mar Menor site) and he reckons the quality is far better than other builders. This is all very encouraging.

I've just spoken to Parador Properties who we're buying through and they have been out to look at our property. There are still a few things that need finishing such as bathroom fixtures, the kitchen sink and some outside work, so even though Taray have asked to complete they are advising us to wait until they go and inspect again in November. Wondered if anybody else is going out shortly to inspect their property that is supposedly finished. Also would love some photo's if anyone has any recent ones. The September ones that have been posted are looking good.

We are heading out on 29th October, will see the house on 30th and have arranged to sign the "escritura" on the 31st.  We are hoping that there won't be too many snags because we are desperate to move in asap.  We have our shopping list for Ikea already written!

My friend, Jim, is visiting friends in the area this week and might bring back some photos.  I think some others said they were planning to visit round about now so we might have some new photos soon.

vincent & brona here (no. 28) still being built  I am a bit confused as to the numbering of the houses as some of those completed seem to be in 40`s region  can anyone enlighten me?

we are coming out for a visit in january 2007 so any hospitality or cupa de vino blanco would be great. we are looking forward to seeing the progress as the photos look great. we have just had a site report back from medsea which shows that the first phase of our build is ready.

any idaes on where to look for furniture?

If you log onto www.taray.es and go to the Torre Alcantara section - there is a masterplan which shows how the houses in the development are numbered. The numbers are very small tho' but there should be a similar map with your contract. 

Nos 1-18 are in the row with the show house. Your row is a continuation of this on the other side of Calle Pedro Flores, and for some reason this seems to be later in the builders schedule than the blocks that it faces. Nos 96 -102 (the first block of semis facing the railway line) are complete, as are the semis in the row behind - nos. 89-95. Townhouses nos 35 to 42 and nos 52 to 59 (the east half of the middle block of houses) are also complete now.

These numbers are the sequential numbers throughout the development, the house addresses are different. Our development no. was 56 but our address is now 10 Calle Pedro Cano. Even numbers on one side of the street and odds on the other.

When you arrive to complete, check if your lights are included.

We have lived in Spain for 2 years and have now brought 2 apartments, in both, the lights where not part of the contract (which is quite normal in new houses in Spain) Fortunately, I am an electrician and fitted them myself.

You can buy from a lighting company, with labour included, can be expensive. Or you can buy your own lights from IKEA, Carrafours, Leroy Merlin, etc,  who stock a wide range at very competative prices and have them fitted.

Hello how exstatic are number 44 right now? We just recieved a letter from Taray this morning saying that our house is ready for completion on 15th dec 6 WEEKS EARLY..Impressed!!

We have allready booked our removals lorry for 12th jan so we wont complete untill then, we can't wait to meet everyone.

We are going for now as a DRINK is in order.

Just found this site to day,  hello to all you lucky people already out there, we were out last September and had a look, hopefully we might get out in the new  year for a few days (work permitting) to see how things are progressing. Our house is not due for completion until Sep.07. Looking forward to meeting you all .

hi julie and chris  we own no.28 so i guess we are going to be neighbours we were told that it would be ready by august 2007 so who knows?

we are going out in january 2007 for a few days R & R to see the progress.

Our property {No46} is also ready Dec 15^th.  Our agent Parador, has said that you can put approx 3 / 4 weeks onto that date to get things sorted, i.e. the final contracts checking & translating, NI number, snag list, solicitors, etc etc. 

We were advised not to come out until all the above was ready, approx Jan / Feb. parador said we would be informed when everything was done and in place ready for us to come out and sign.

The alternative was to give solicitor the Power of Attorney

I suppose that’s when the fun begins….Furniture to buy, etc etc
