Hi All

the reason to make a will is because of Spanish laws about who inherits, unless you specify, all and sundry in the family are entitled to grab a piece of the estate, nightmare if you've had a date with the bucket and your immediate family want to sell or inherit. - [but maybe you don't care - after all shrouds don't have pockets!]

regards to al Mags & Loz - hope to meet you all sometime

Hi to all, especially Elaine and Steve M15.46 signing on the 6th Sept and Les and Aud M13 35 signing on the 10th/12th October.  I think you are the key people at the moment to tell us what is actually happening, The agents and builder can tell us what they like on a day to day, month to month basis, but until we actually get into the house, get the keys, sign the papers, switch on the lights and turn on the taps, we really don't believe anything they say.

I don't think I know of one person who has actually seen inside their house yet, we are always told to look in the show house.  Has anyone been in their house yet, someone said they had done the 'snagging', perhaps they could tell us what the quality is like, what is the finish standard like, and have the builders taken on board any faults.  Last time we were out we did notice some external defects, and did notice that some of the houses that have been built quite a while are looking a bit dull as though they need a touch up with the paint, those ready for hand over on M14 and M15 did look brighter though and the cleaners were inside, so I wonder if they touch up or clean the outside as well?

I would just like to ask if we can have some feedback from those who have or are ready for sign over.  I was also surprised to see the first mention of M13 being ready for sign over.

So please feed back and hopefully give us some good news. Especially about the water and electricity, builders or owner's supply.  Also is there any street lighting on yet, can't imagine being one of only two families stuck out there with little or no, electricity supply.

Thanks in advance to all the first Sierra Golf Pioneers. R

Hi all, Been down to site today Absolutely nothing happening, very few people on site, a bit of pavement work going on in block13 area but that was it. There is nobody living on site as there is still no electrics connected or water, the aftersales guy on site said we could do our snagging but without elect & water this is not possible. They then told me if I paid the 360 euro's for connection there would be no problem, I told them I had paid it a month ago so why isn't it there, no answer was the reply. I still think we are some time away from occupation as they just keep telling us porkies, if it was left to me I ram it as far up as I could get it this must be one of the worst companies around, yes it will be nice when its finished but can we all wait that long.

cheers ray

Hi Ray,

What your saying concerns me alot. We have arranged to handover on the 13th September after confirmation from Masa to our legal representatives.

Which sector are you on and have you been given a date? I have asked Mercers to look into this.

Thanks

Barry

Hi Barry. We are 14-14 Eagle, we have not been given a date. The snagging should not be done until elect and water are connected.   How else can you tell everything is OK. They may tell you can but lets be realistic how can you tell until everything is in place, to be honest I wish I had never heard of the damn place. The only problem I have is the wife she seems to think everything is OK. Here's hoping Ray

Hi All

Spoke to mercers in Spain yesterday and I was told that they have the green light to start releasing properties on 13,14,15 and 16.

Vicky stated that the first people she was going to deal with were the people allready out there.

My property on m15 is also ready and she will get me a notary appointment for 20th Sept if I can get a bank account sorted out in time.

My understanding of the water and electricity supplies are that all properties are on builders supply untill payment has been received then the connection of permanant supplies will then be put on (I may be wrong about this ).

Regards

John & Wendy

Hi everyone,  sounds like we are all being given the runnaround by all the estate agents as well as the builders.  If the electricity and water is there what is the problem, we were all told we just had to pay the 360 euros and it would be switched on.  Someone said they had seen the generators, why then do we need generators if the supply is there, if not why are we paying the money to connect on builders supply.

We do know of a site in Campoamor , Playa Golf where we stayed recently, that has been on builders electrity for over 2 years and still is, but it didn't stop them moving in.

I wonder if we could do a bit of a poll and find out which agents, and which solicitors are being supportive and which ones are telling the porkies.

We haven't got our solicitor yet, but I wonder if any ones solicitors especially those ready for signing over have actually questioned why some people have been given promises and dates to sign over, asked to pay for electricity connection, have been promised habitation certificates etc etc. and have even travelled over to Spain on required dates only to be told that they cannot move in.

Hoping to hear from you, and ideas about what can we do, should we be getting a solicitor now and looking at why we are in this situation,  the Golf course is getting a water supply from somewhere the electricians were in when we were there August 13th, we even saw men fitting telephone and TV aerials so what on earth is going on?????????????????????????????

HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY SIGNED OVER?

Hi all,

I feel its time for somebody to step in with a positive input.

The houses have been ready since August, but as the majority of Spain shuts down during this month, no notary appointments were available until this week.

There seems be a lot of confusion over water and electricity supplies. We have been told categorically by Vicky of Mercers, who we trust and has always been reliable and honest, even when it hasn't been the news we wanted, that builders supply water and electricity are connected to the houses on M14 & 15 now. The arrangement is that you will remain on builders supply until you have paid 360 Euros and signed the deeds to your property. What this means is that when your snagging meeting date is booked with the builders you will be able to test water and electricity.

Since Vicky (Mercers) has returned from holiday (Monday 3rd) we have confirmed our handover date of 13th Sept. and this has been agreed and confirmed between our solicitor and Grupo Masa. We have arranged our snagging meeting for Tuesday morning and we have also checked this with our bank and we have no reason whatsoever to believe that this will not happen (despite our previous lack of confidence in Grupo Masa)!

With this in mind if you're on M14 & 15 and your agent is as reliable and honest as Vicky your handover cannot be far away.

Barry and Mandy

Hi Barry & Mandy,

We are also with Mercers, and totally agree with what you say, including your comments about Mercers, and Vicky (Liz as well!!). Since the news first broke about the imminent release of the properties, Mercers have been very conservative with regard to handovers, and Vicky, in particular, has always said  that she would not speculate but only give information as and when it had been completely validated,  which is what has happened.

Vicky has now confirmed that the first property, on 15, is ready for handover, under the conditions as stated in your posting, and that we should now make our arrangements through our Solicitors for completion, also ensuring that she is made aware of the Notary appointment date.

We also have a property on M16, but Vicky states that she will have to wait until next week to see if she can give the 'go ahead' with that property, obviously it is close to handover, but she will confirm it by email as and when informed by the Builder.

We are currently arranging our dates with our Solicitor, and expect to be there in the next 2 or 3 weeks (probably flying over on the 23rd -convenient as it will be our 40th wedding anniversary).

Hope that those that haven't, get the good news soon, 'caus it WILL be soon!!

Best regards,

John & Mary B.

Hi all

After speaking to my solicitor today i have decided to complete on the 13th September, I hope the habitation certificate will be thru by then.even if its not i dont think its a train smash at this point.

The reason i decided to complete was my solicitor told me that the bank is giving out mortgages for properties on 14@15 so that is good enough for me

She is busy doing a few completions today for other people.

We will be on builders water @ elec to start with

I have booked flights for the 14th and hope to sleep there on the same night.

Will there be any of you out there then or will i be the only one on site ?????

keeping fingers crossed ererything is ready

See you all sooooooooooon

eric  open 15-52
