Progress of building work

Just wondered if anyone has photographs of this development as to work carried out so far - I have been given a completion date of April 2008 - again has anyone any more news?

Not sure how many pictures have uploaded, but I have a few more... Remeber that there are two blocks and this one is further along than the other.

Many thanks for the photo (only one came out by the way) do you have any more please!!  I am intending to get up to the site some time next week to take some photos.  Have you heard any news on completion?  I was told April but by your photo it looks some time off yet.  When was it taken? End of April is the contract deadline but with everything that is going on in property & financial markets at the moment I haven't a clue on an actual completion date. The previous picture is from late last year (below is another).

I don't know if you (Coolcat) are in touch with the estate agent, but I would get in touch with whoever you dealt with before you head out - make sure you can get access to the site during Semana Santa (Easter). If you do go then post a note as to how it's looking & what you think.

My solicitor contacted me today stating that the build is complete and that the licence of first occupation has been applied for. We visited the property in Feb and it all seemed well advanced then

 

Hi,I was up on site on Monday and the progress looks good.  I am not sure if it is completed yet as electric was not connected and fittings were not finished.  I viewed the show apartment and my apartment and was surprised to find that no bath was installed in the bathroom only a shower tray, not sure if this was specified or not, perhaps someone could check this out.  I have attached photos and the views are absolutely fantastic.  I am marketing my apartment and would like to sell before completion, so if you know anyone who would like to buy, please let me know.  Many thanks.

We have purchase a penthouse on Village views and are due to complete 30th June. Has anyone completed already?
Does anyone have internal sizes of rooms handy and also do the bedrooms have built-in wardrobes.

Just wondered if anyone is actually going to live there or just use for holidays?  I was up there in April and did not see any wardrobes in the show flat, there is also no bath, just a shower tray. I have attached a floor plan (on the photo section) of apartment but not sure if it is the same for a penthouse.  Hope it is of some help

Hi I am new to the site didn't realise it existed!  We have just returned from a few days there and noticed a few people have already moved in.  We have had trouble getting a mortgage due to the fact that the certificate of completion was incorrect as they had added some more apartments than the original 44.  Has anyone else completed using a spanish mortgage?  The certificates are now all in place and we hope that we will complete in the next few weeks.  We did notice that the pool down one end outside of the indoor pool was very dirty and dark green and that the gym had no equipment in it.  Can someone give me some first hand experience of actually staying/living there.  We are very keen to start out weekends out there but would love to hear your views.

We completed in July and furnished it in August/September. Have only spent a couple of weekends there so far but it's great. Cogollos seems very quite at night and its a hard walk up the hill after a drink!!
The outside pool which is dirty was closed during September as there were huge storms and the gutters over flowed and drained into the pool. Don't think it will open again until next year.
I've been told the indoor pool will be open weekends only once more than 50% of the appartments have actually completed.

Shall be out there w/e 21 Nov. Maybe will see you around.

Thanks for the information - I am trying to sell my apartment but have not had any luck so far, just wondered if anybody knew someone who would be interested?  Would appreciate any comments.

Thanks for the update we did meet the builder Monday but unfortunately we speak no spanish yet(!) and he spoke no english so trying to work out what had happened with the pool was fun!  Am pleased to hear that you have completed okay.  What did you do about furniture did you source it locally?  We know there is an IKEA in Malaga - do you have any recommendations?  We are so keen to start visiting on a regular basis this was our 3rd trip out and it hurt to pay someone else to stay there!  We did visit the local shop yesterday and my kids were pleased it was like an alladins cave with all the cakes and chocolate on offer!

Where have you advertised it & how much?
Also is it furnished?

I drove down with the car full, some flatpack furniture from Ikea(UK) and all the kitchen bits + bedding etc. It actually saved us money & a lot of time sourcing everything locally. I was also lucky as during August the local furniture shops had their sales so managed to purchase beds, sofas & lighting at reasonalbe costs. (exchange rate is not as good as it was when we put down deposit)
Rapimuble & Conforama are very good and reasonably priced. 
By the way Ikea are opening a branch in Granada sometime next year. I believe its going to be close to Carrefour.

When do you plan to go out next?

We haven't made any plans to go out yet as we really need to get the completion sorted.  We booked the recent flights back in June after we  had gone out there to do our "snagging" list thinking it would be ours by October and still it isn't so I think we will wait until we have completed and then book some flights. Did you have any problems completing it has been so annoying for us.  Hopefully it will all sort itself out soon.  The weather was beautiful when we were there on Monday 24 degrees and the thought of popping out for weekends whenever we want feels so nice!  How often do you plan to go out? Do you know of any other English owners? When we were there it looked like there were only about 10/12 occupied although lots of shutters were down so it is difficult to tell.

Hi all we completed back in June and have been out a couple of times so far. We asked the developers on our last visit why the indoor pool wasn't open and from my limited spanish I understood that not enough properties have been sold to form a viable residents community, we are not paying a charge yet, nor are we paying for our electricity. There is a restaurant - Geminis in the village, great food, huge portions couldn't finish my starter yet alone my steak. There is also another bar/restaurant about 500m the other side of the village - just drive straight through and it is on your right, good food, very friendly and excellent value. My spanish is very embryonic but everyone seems friendly.

Hi all just spoken to some friends of ours who used the place over the weekend, the pool by the entrance has been cleaned up, and our spanish neighbour tried to tell them of a community meeting, which they witnessed by the far outside pool

We still haven't completed - very very frustrated.  We have given up on the spanish mortgage too much hassle and now hoped to complete by end Feb.  Has anyone been out there lately?  Any news of a committee etc?  It would be good to find out what has been going on?
