What's this NIE all about?

Gedsouthern had asked me bc about a request from Oceanview for him to complete on the basis of some letter they say exists from the Town Hall. It is NOT the LFO. The earliest that this MAY be available is apparently October. The authorization letter they have asked us to sign says

"We have been informed by our lawyers GVA that the Developers have already applied for the First Occupancy Licence but it has not been granted yet. Consequently the individual contracts cannot be formalized yet. In the meantime the Developers compromised to provide the electricity and water supplies from the works."

In other words - no licence and a builders temporary supply of water and power. Do not complete on this basis!

 

I've just found this site and am very relieved. I thought I was going barmy. My solicitor has refused point blank to contemplate signing anything. The First Occupancy paperwork is not apparent, he has told me there is also a problem with some other documentation at the town hall. The association of residents is not answering questions either. I thought I was the only one refusing to sign as I have a solicitor who is not one of the three OVP recommended. Can anyone update me please? Send me a private mail if mecessary. Dave

We've heard in the last few days that the LFO has finally been granted!! Not seen anything official yet. Fingers crossed that we may finally be able to complete soon. If anyone else has anything to add we would be pleased to hear it

I've just had a document I am told is the one we are waiting for. I have sent it to my solicitor and am awaiting his OK. I'll keep you informed.

I've just come accross this web site & would like to air a couple of grievenses regarding Oceanview. My apartment is in block 6 phase 3, I've tried on many occasions to get a drop dead date for completion from OVP but the completion date keeps getting pushed further & further back.

Also, paid 50% for our furniture pack 12 months ago, money that we could have earned interest on ourselves. My Spanish solicitors are GVA recommended by OVP... Not much help from them regarding compensation. We were quoted 18 months build schedule, to date I think it's 36 months!

I've also noticed in October 2006 that another block of apartments (next to ours) have overtaken us & completed their build, with another complex well advanced.

Any comments would be apreciated

Hello Hugh, I have sent private message, but we are in the same situation as yourself. Its disgusting the way we cant get an answer 3 years down the line and a lot of money just sitting there. hope to hear from you soon
