My wife and I have bought in phase 4 of Villa Sol in August 2005 and this is the first we have heard of a phase 5. Has anyone spoken to the builder about how this will affect the views of phase 4?
We are feeling a little annoyed at both the builder and the agent who sold us the property as we specifically asked about the land in front and were told there were no plans to build on it.
However we are looking forward to enjoying many a holiday there and have booked to fly out in Feb when hopefully all will be completed.

I have also bought a property in phase 4 (no. 51) in November 2005. I asked specifically if there would be anything built in front & was told there were no plans to. I don't know how phase 5 will affect our views. I understand they are town houses. Has anyone been given a completion date for phase 4 yet ? I have been in touch with my agent but they say they are waiting to hear from Ricardo. Can't wait !!

Has anyone heard re completion date from either their agents or Ricardo, the builder? I have e.mailed both but had no reply. Thanks to Simon & Maureen for the photos. If they were taken in October I can't see the apartments being ready for December !

We bought a town house in phase 1 and moved in last February. We were always aware of other town houses in phase 5 at the other end of the plot. We haven't seen any sign of building as yet. The area to built on was cleared and the walls on the end of phase 4 were plastered and completed as if this was the end. There are no windows or balconies on this end.
Given that there is to be a phase 5 this should not impact on the views from anywhere other than the poor Spanish residences that back onto the plot.
At the beginning of December Ricardo was still talking about December completion dates for phases 2,3 and 4. I can hardly see this happening for 2 and 3and4 looks impossible. As I said, building work hadn't even started for phase 5 so April 07 seems a bit optimistic.
We thoroughly enjoy Catral. When the community can club together to get the swimming pool heated it will be even better. We were in on 23 November (as a dare for a birthday!) and it was freezing.

Simon & Maureen here.
That last poster is completely wrong. Phase 5 is already built structurally! They are the last 6 townhouses in the complex with the bright white wall as the end. They will not be finished this December. We have now moved to Spain renting in Algorfa and for the past 3 sundays we have been down to the site to take a gander at the progress.
The townhouses now have tiling in all the bathrooms and the kitchens. Nos 63,62 and 61 have tiling in the underbuild room. All the solariums are tiled and the walls have been rebuilt back up (apart from the basements).
Glass has been inserted into the upstairs windows of 63. So it looks to me as though it is more likely to be January/February that they will be handed over.
As long as they don't put the front doors on (they have for no.59) we can still gain access to see how they progress.

Sorry about the misinformation in my last posting. I have obviously had phase 5 as part of phase 4. Somehow I had assumed that the town houses would have been facing out the way. This is good news for the open space at the end which Ricardo reckons to be landscaping. Bad news on the other hand for phase 4 who now have the townhouses right in front of them.
The sooner the development gets finished the better. Unfortunately there are people with less inocent intent getting access to occupied houses through the gaps in the unfinished parts. We learnt the hard way to have grills put on all windows and doors no matter how inaccessible some of them may seem.

Hi All
I am just wondering does anyone know how phase 4 is doing. My husband and I have bought a property in phase 4 (and were annoyed at Phase 5 facing ours as we knew nothing about it, but nothing we can do now). Anyway we are due to fly out in Feb to organise furniture etc. but don't know how realistic it will be for us to gain access to our property. we were told December completion date but obviously that hasn't happened. Any information would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hi to all Villa Sol residents
We have just returned from our third visit to our apartment since completion in February and are very pleased with the result, i can imagine though how people feel about buying in phase 4 and finding out that there was another phase being built opposite. The one thing we did before paying our deposit was to check with the town hall to see what applications had been made as friends of our made the same mistake in another development, we reserved in April 2006 and the plans for this block were already in place well before this date.
We have to say that although these have obscured views, phase 4 still looks very nice and we would have been happy to have purchased in this block and the view from the upper floor solarium is amazing, so hopefully to all residents of this phase we hope when you complete you will be as happy as we are.

Hi to all
i've just recently bought no.52 and visited in april, can any body tell me if the gap for the fridge will take a 170 cm high fridge, it looks as if the hot water pipes are too low, don't want to buy before i check. the finish on the apartments look good but haven't lived in them yet, do the snag lists get fixed by Ricardo ???
looking forward to meeting you when we come over next.

Hi Clive
We have purchased number 31 on the other end of the development and i think our fridge is 160 high as like you the pipes from the boiler are quite low.
Ricardo does the snagging list and we have to say that ours were done in two days whilst we were visiting at Easter, it was like 60 minute makeover tradesmen came from everywhere! Chris,my husband is an architect so his list was attended to quickly but I have to say if you approach Ricardo in the right manner without hassling him he has been very obliging from the beginning.
We hope your as happy as we are, only one suggestion if you havent had air conditioning installed for the heat in the winter i would consider it as we have stayed for two weeks, one in March and one in April and we bought two plug in heaters and we have just had quite and expensive electricity bill! We will be considering air cond for next winter.
