Closing date

As an investor in Calanova Grand ( and new to the forum) I notification from my Spanish lawyer that "The Deeds are ready to be signed next 2oth of February and for that day you should have obtained NIE number and brought the funds"

So it looks like all systems go....at last!!!!

Well things are finally hotting up !!!!!  Looks like we all got the e-mail from our Solicitors although Feb 20th was not mentioned to me. Going out next weekend 27th until the Tuesday and have a meeting with Solicitor on Monday morning. She is going to organise the paper work for the NIE numbers which she says have to be brought to the Police Station in Fuengirola ( which closes at 1pm I Believe) . Will let you know any more if I hear before you do. Otherwise, keep posting.

By the way Seamus, I,m in Navan, Co Meath. Where are you and what block have you bought in ?

Hi guys

Just returned after 4 days in La Cala. Development is really looking good - took photos but have to get my teenage son to upload them for me. They have put in lifts in the grounds which woul take a wheelchair/buggy from one block down to another and down to another and so on which I thought was really good for disabled access. Still working on the gardening but getting there. Could not get into our own apartment for insurance reasons as grounds not complete so measured the show flat instead. No definite date yet from Solicitor but she mentioned 4/6 weeks. Seem to be doing it in stages. Spent Monday morning at the police station to get NIE numbers. Wasn't too bad at this time of year but I'd hate to be doing it in July?August in the heat. Took about 2 hours in total as had to go and pay a fee at a bank and then come back to police station (fee is new, I think, since January 08 - EUR15.00 per person).

Didn't get to furniture shop as time ran out but did get into IKEA at the airport for an hour. Some stuff good, some stuff terrible. Not used to IKEA in Ireland so not very famiiar with the stuff. Will post again to advise when picture are up.

Hi Helen,

Sounds good, have they laid any turf yet? We are going out on Wednesday and hope to take some photos. Lets hope we have completed by the 23rd March or we will have to book into another hotel!!

What was the weather like? There is a lot of snow here tonight and I cant imagine being in the sunshine next week.

We have a meeting with the banker and the lawyer on Friday. Did you find out about the water and electricity?

Hi Mary, just updated photos this evening. Looking good. Seem to be laying the turf around the pool area although didn't get that far. Weather was fab 19 degrees by day but cool at night and first thing in the morning. Didn't find out about the water, etc except the Solicitor told us her Secretary would complete the documentation. I see on her break down of fees she has a charge on it for connection of these facilities. Enjoy your break and let us know how you get on.
