Hi Ethelfleda,
How did you manage to get an upgrade. We returned from MCC/OCC yesterday and after many meetings the best we could get was a direct swap with air condition preinstalled at cost price.
They would not budge an inch and completely refused to give is a bigger plot even though there are still some available.
Did you have a bank guarantee and who was your agent
Regards
Garry

Anyone got any thoughts as to which bank account will offer the best interest rate at the moment, I am not sure whether to use the local CAM bank in Almeria, or opt for something else. I am looking for a long term investment minimum 12 months.

then i would exchange it to sterling as the euro is very strong at the moment and either open a sterling account in spain, or transfer it back to the uk where you will get a pretty good interest rate in the uk at the moment, the interest rates have fallen a little in spain.

It depends a bit on what you plan to do with it at the end of 12 months. If it is for a house or other large purchase in euros, then transferring to sterling now may give you a good rate and better interest but if you need euros again in a year's time and sterling has not recovered or fallen further you may end up worse off and you will have had two lots of transfer costs.
