Hi,
we have now been on three Ryanair flights were the cabin staff were verbally abused and the aircraft has been met by Spanish police and the offender escorted off. (All one sex groups to Benidorm)
I was just wondering what was the fate of the offenders, are the warned or prosecuted, will Ryanair ban them from future flights?
Thanks
Dave

I would hope that they would be banned from ALL flights, whatever the airline.

Don't think so. I reported an incident on a BA flight to Faro some 3 years ago! Despite the individual being escorted from the plane by the police in Faro he was at the front of the queue to enter Portugal.
I asked British Airways if they were going to ban this person from future flights. I've had two hold letters! I remind them each year that I am waiting for a reply! Again I get a letter telling me it is being looked into! What would they do in a real emergency, take 5 years to take some action. I have to admit I was most disappointed at their reaction.

Abusing cabin staff is an offence. Not sure what exactley happens whether people are banned from future flights or prosecuted or just warned.

Hi Dave
I think I was probably on the same flight as you last week!! Worst flight I've ever been on, Ryanair Liverpool to Alicante last Thursday. Noise, abuse, cabin crew in tears, stealing off the trolley....One of the ladies from a hen party was escorted off the plane by three Guardia Civil.
When we got back on the plane on sunday night it was the same cabin crew, my husband said that he hoped the passengers would be better tonight, and the stewardess informed us the Friday night flight was even worse with two arrests. I asked her what happens after they are escorted off the plane. She informed me they were arrested, fined, had their return flight cancelled, were banned from Ryanair for life and would have to sort themselves out to get home. So, yes, they do operate a zero tolerance policy. Maybe they need to advertise this much more to try to prevent this? It truly was a horrible flight.
cheers, carol

Any abuse to anybody should not be tolerated and most airlines take abuse to staff extremely seriously. what happens when airline staff are abusive to passengers........ this happened to my husband and me last year when we tried to report an incident........ Ryanair staff were so rude...... needless to say I wont and have not flown with them since..............

The wife and i were also on that Ryanair flight last thursday, the lady[and i use the term loosely] asked an elderly man who was travelling on his own would he move seats so she could sit with her friend because there were not 2 seats together left when they got on the plane. After we took off they went to sit in row 3 or 4 which were kept empty for takeoff,we did did not see what she had done to be taken off the plane.Lets hope she's still walking home!!

Who is this SteveJ80 and why are his posts always edited. He doesn't seem to learn.
Getting back to the post, in support of Ryanair staff, I've always found them the most helpful of all the airlines and should be least badly-treated. If a group is getting more than merry perhaps a threat of no more drink being served to them would suffice.

Perhaps no drink should be served on board/ in the airport at all? No, that will never happen it is too profitable. As usual, it is a minority that ruin it for everybody and we all get labelled the "lager louts" of Europe

I agree we all like a drink in moderation, but when that mark is overstepped and causes abuse to staff and fellow passengers it should not be tollerated. The realty is that most of these people have consumed excessive amounts of drink before boarding. The irony is that the cabin crew serve them more drink from the trolley, to boost their commission.

I have made about 20 trips with Ryan Air from East Midland
to San Javier and so far, touch wood, have not had problems
with drunks. The cabin crew is always polite and very helpful. As you say, they do however have to serve drinks to passengers who may well be intoxicated
before getting on the plane.
