Has anyone ever used smart currency to transfer money
from an english to spanish bank account.
If so are they any good.??
I know this subject has been discussed on another thread
but I could not find it so have started this thread to get some info.
(I hope).

Hi there
yes i use smart currency i find they are easy to use clear and simple i set a 6 mth contract costs £5 per mth and rate is set for that period

I always use Smart Currency exchange, for smaller amounts they charge £5 but for amounts over £3,000 there is no charge.
Also I have never been charged by my receiving bank [Santander]

Hi,
I use FairFX to transfer to my account in Spain and don't get charged for the pleasure. You get what the exchange rate is at the time you see it on the website usually a better rate than banks/post office!

Xe.com for me. No charges, good rates and as I bank with Barclays, have a Barclays in Spain account and Xe's clearing bank is also Barclays, funds sent today arrive and clear toady  .

I thought the Greek crisis was supposed to be bad for the €uro

Why do people claim things like “The rate is even better than the bank to bank rate” ?
That can never be so.
Example.
Fair FX (Mazlester) rate to Pound to Euro 1.175;
bank to bank rate 1.182
Thus on £1,000 bank to bank 1,820 euros
Fair FX, 1, 175
Hidden cost on FairFX 645 Euros

As far as I know Smart gives a better rate than the other companies and it has NO hidden chances, google smartcurrencyspain
and before my post is edited NO I DO NOT work for Smart in any way at all, I am just a customer of theirs
