Hi all,
following on from the 'doom & gloom' thread i think it needs a reminder of why we came here.
yes there is corruption, bad economy and hard times ahead (you cheered up yet!)
BUT
tell me one place in the world where that isn't happening?
so all that aside, remember why we moved out here and enjoy the sun, sea, slower pace of life and be happy. It's not always easy with everything that's going on, but you could be back in the UK experiencing exactly the same problems with crap weather to boot!
keep smiling and let's not live life like a daily mail special story!

True story:
At the airport the other day my missus and we were having a drink watching some of the planes landing.
When my wife remarked to me " Wow, don't they get low ! "
It was then that I realised, I'm marrying a fool !! |

Well said, Mattress cleaning (strange name by the way).
I've been here 30 years and really nothing's changed that much. It's just that communications are better now and we hear about anything and everything from all over Spain, so it seems worse than it really is. As we all know bad news always attracts more attention than good.. You so rightly say this is a worldwide problem and where better to suffer it.? Surely even with the crisis life is still great here, the sun, the sea, the sand, the fiestas, are all free so you can still enjoy yourself without breaking the bank

Yes. I am reminded of a saying:
"Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you." Life is like that.
"I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day. ~Elwyn Brooks White
