Looking for long term property rentals

Hola a todos!
My wife and myself will be moving to Spain later this year when we retire. We would like to rent long term as opposed to buying. we have noticed, however, that many of the ads on the various expat sites seem to be for long term holiday rentals. We want a place we can live in for years as instead of months and would be grateful for any advice, help or information on this subject. we are thinking of moving to the Murcia or Alicante regions.
