Goats

Hello

I have a smallholding in the campo of catalunya.

I am considering having a goat or two although i have no experience at all.

I do not want to take this decision lightly and doing research on the net has given me lots of info but also lots of conflicting info.  Most of the articles i have found have not been from spain either.

Does anybody have any personal experience/info they could share or know of any useful sites for me to look at.

Hi,

    I kept goats on my smallholding in Scotland for several years, the main problems I encountered are listed below.

1. Keeping them in my boundaries

2.Eating everything except what you wanted them to eat. Vegetable patch, bushes, trees and the washing line complete with clothes.

3. They do smell badly despite stable being cleaned on a weekly basis ( suspect would be worse in Spain)

4. POO everywhere and always where you place your feet in the dark or gloomy nights.

Despite that I loved them with a passion they gave me endless enjoyment with there antics and personallities and given the chance I would do it all again.
