Murcia International Airport... new name for Corvera
The Comments |
I spotted this artical below about the new International Airport for Murcia which looks like it will finally open is doors in April 2013. Already Jet 2 have confirmed all 50 staff will be transfering from San Javier to Murcia International which looks like it might be the new name rather than Corvera.... Watch out if you are booking flights in April then ...

That was always its name ? It just got called Corvera because of where it was being built & to differentiate it from San Javier ( Murcia ) also known as Alicante South !!

Try and read the article in Murcia Today where they state that there will be yet another meeting on 11th December to agree the flight paths etc. Then more paperwork as is par for Spain etc. However this article also states that AENA still have not agreed the financial settlement for the money they have spent on San Javier. This looks like Corvera will not be ready for commercial flights in April. An English language free paper has said that the earliest flights will be June 2013.
As has been stated from day 1 nobody knows if or when Corvera will be open for business.
