i have heard that garden furniture is really expensive in Spain, as we are bringing out some furniture from the UK I wondered if anyone as compared the cost. It thought might work out cheaoper to buy in the sales (and lets face it with our weather, there is bound to be a lot of choice) or wait till I got to sSpain and buy it there.

 thanks

Garden furniture is not really more expensive in Spain.  The cheapo plastic stuff is available from many places and really are cheap.  Due to the weather in Spain, more people tend to eat outside (on balconies, sun-terraces, patios etc) than in UK.  They, therefore, go for better quality stuff than is normally bought in UK.  Comparing wooden furniture in UK to Spain, we found the prices were slightly higher in Spain but the quality was better.  I don't know which La Matanza you are in (inland Murcia? Canaries?) but there must be many garden furniture specialists in your area.  The cost of buying them and then shipping them from UK must be higher than buying them new in Spain.  We have the plastic ones on our sun terrace (8 seater table, 8 plastic chairs and brolly) which cost about £50 from Carrefour.  A six seater wooden table with marble top, 4 wooden chairs without arms, two with, chair covers and a large sun canopy cost €540 (about £370) from a garden centre in Villamartin.  This was a special clearance offer but many places around have these offers as often as Allied Carpets have a sale.

Hav a look round next time you're over before committing yourself.  They also take up a fair bit of room which bumps up the shipping costs.

I must share this news. Went shopping at STAPLES and sighted a few new products in the Garden Furnitures and office chair department. STAPLES now carries very exclusive looking designer Garden furniture from  CHARLES EAMES. The sales person did not even know. The cartons just say "Designer furniture reproduction", but the Eames design is so famous, you can't miss it. They have three versions: A padded furniture with high back (named QUINTO), a padded furniture in lower back (named AMALF), and a very slick looking version with mesh fabric (named "something with "R", Rilo or so; sorry that I forgot). Compared with close to a thousand pounds these chairs used to sell for, STAPLES offers a bargain to anyone looking for a classic Charles  CHARLES EAMES chair and Garden furniture.

Also look out for people advertising as they are going back to the UK, we got a really good quality wooden table and chairs, quick lick of stain and it looks like new, a real bargain at €50.

I think the choice of garden furniture in Spain is really good. You can go from the really inexpensive stuff in Carrefour to the top of the range stuff in designer furniture stores or El Corte Ingles. There seems to be more choice but it depends on what style you are looking for. Because so much time is spent outdoors there seems to be a wider variety. Have a look online to get some idea of the prices.

Casa - casashops.com - inexpensive and trendy

El Corte Ingles -  a John Lewis type of store

Try Google for the area you are going to and see what comes up

The choice of garden furniture is enormous. Many people prefer wooden garden furniture because it creates a special feeling just like wooden interior furniture. Carefully chosen wooden garden furniture will transform your garden into a perfect spot to relax, spend quality time with your family and friends especially during long summer days or simply enjoy the nature and get some fresh air. Thanks.

Avoid wood if possible it needs restaining regulary and gets darker with every coat of oil particulary if you are near the coast ,we purchased outdoor fake rattan with metal from argos and after 7 years on our terrace uncovered it still looks as good as new and very comfortable without cushions, light and easy to move too.

My ADVICE ship as much as you can SPANISH FURNITURE is very POOR and dosent LAST

Had a look and they still do it

However if I were to buy again these are the latest GARDEN FURNITURES of which I plan to buy for my UK property

The choice of furniture in Spain is endless and available in all qualities depending on how much you want to pay, you would be hard fetched now to find a better place to buy furniture, be it garden or home. Prices are incredibly cheap right now and Spain makes some of the best furniture in the world.

Making your garden beautiful is a must. You should try remodeling your garden every once in a while. You can try buying some new furniture like a new table and chairs. You can also buy some outdoor decorations like a cute garden statue or perhaps putting a pond in your garden. You just have to be more creative when designing your garden.

Everyone wants a beautiful backyard especially when someone retire from the service and I agree with @helgajones!!! Also setting of tables and chairs in any garden can give a big impact on the look of your outdoor spaces. Other accessories help to make garden more beautiful like use ornaments/ grow beautiful flowers in the garden etc.
