Admin help needed with iPad 4 problems

Around a month ago I treated myself to an iPad 4, the one with retina display, I've never had a tablet before so I'm just learning.
It is nothing like using my laptop so this is causing me problems. Everything is different.
I cannot add photos to here as there is no option to, there are no options for underlining, changing text colour, size etc, there is nothing! :-(
I cannot write my blogs, I start writing then can't see any text, it is driving me crazy. I have had to resort to using my laptop. It surely just can't be me or am I missing something basic?

Try the site called.... How-to geek, then put in the search box.... ipad,  a couple of lines down is a bit called something like, tricks etc etc, have a look it might be want you need.

There is a app you can down load which you will be able to get a answer to all your questions it is IPF ipad forum hope this helps.

Obiously, I am on my laptop or I couldn't have posted a smiley! 

I would think admin could suggest something, will be interested to hear their response.
