Hi all
Anyone know what the latest exchange rate is for Halifax?

Hi Candyfloss,
Not sure what the rate is but why would you want to go through the Halifax? I know when I transferred money for a house purchse going through the Halifax would have made me 7500 euros worse off than using one of the exchange companies.

Rusty is right,the banks take too much of a cut,i never use them always use a currency company,

Thanks for that, yes i did use trade when transferring large amounts but was wondering if it was worth doing Halifax to Halifax for smaller amounts and if there was a lot of difference between trade exchanges and banks. I'll have to check it out.

As Gina is aware I sent her emails giving her info, up to her how she goes from here. Currency banks will only give you those high rates, Georgia, if you transfer over say £2,000 & then often levy a £15 telegraphic charge. So it does depend rather on how much you want / need to send. Also some Spanish banks charge to receive the funds so that needs to be checked obviously.
