Problem with Telefonica Fija (landline) Phone Incoming Calls last only 3 rings

I am in Gran Canaria and every time a receive a landline (fijo) call the phone rings 3 times then cuts off. I do not have a call forwarding or message service just tha basic internet plus fijo. I am using a Motorola T301. I cannot find any information on how to increase the number of rings on incoming calls, if this is possible, and have no problems making calls. Can anyone help or should I try buying a new handset?
