I made an appraisal to Malcolm Roach, his director, regarding IHT liabilities in Spain and how different liabilites arise at the death of one or both spouses if they decide to set a company for the ownership of the asset.

I agree. By having a Spanish property owned by a UK company seems like a great way of substancially reducing associated purchase taxes and makes inheritance issues easy to deal with under uk legislation. I would do some research - looks like your on to a winner.

I would say it is an innovative, good idea.

Maria, I would like to know, does the Tax relief offered by some areas i.e Gran Canaria, in spouse to spouse inheritance, apply to those domiciled in Spain only, or all Spanish residents ?
