Working in Spain for uk company
The Comments |
I am seeking Advice on the following ... I have been asked if I would work (permanently) in Spain for a Uk based company. I would be paid from the Uk.
What would be the best status to assume, .An employee (if that were possible within Tax regulations) or Self employed (Autonomo) .?

Hi Taffexpat, Welcome to the forum, sorry I do not quite understand if your working for a UK Co in Spain then you are employed by that company so I do not see how you can be self employed, unless I am missing something here. I do not know if you will have to pay Spanish tax as well as Uk But their will be a lot of people that will be able to help you on this forum. Have you done a google search about tax? Good Luck Pat This message was last edited by Pat and Roy on 2/4/2008.

Thanks Pat ... Yes done Google search, all I can find is that, if you are outside the Uk for more that 183 days, then the uk class you as being a non resident for tax etc.,, and should pay tax in that country. So i'm looking for the best option.. As i'm not currently on their payroll.

Hi Taffexpat. Just wanted really to welcome you to our forum. I can't answer your question but I know there must be others who can, just a case of encouraging them to answer.
