I have looked at Direct Telecom and it's more for users (getting cheap calls) than number rentals. Europa insisted that I have an existing landline in Spain. I have found a couple more but it still seems a lot easier UK - Spain with 0844 & 0871 etc. One will only do business if I give UK company reg and VAT number - I am not VAT registered so have offered Spanish NIE. The 'best' one left wants a £9 set-up fee which is fair enough, and then £12 per month plus a small charge for calls. Everything obviously goes up when diverting to mobiles. We'll have to see, I might wait until after Christmas for my campaign now as business will probably be tight this time of year.

I am starting a business in Spain and have had the same issue.  I am thinking of going with Toll free forwarding (google it as all one word) which will give you a number in Spain which diverts anywhere and includes a compuerised call answering system which will do things like email your messages to you.  Probably not cheaper than what you already have mind.
