Hi
I am about to employ a Spanish Architect for a reform project for which we have come to an agreement ,i have asked him if we would need to make a contract and he said it is not really needed ..,sounds a bit odd to me ,anybody experience with this issue ?
thank you

Dear Zoe,
I would recommend you to do a contract with him and get everyting in writting. Every single reform project I have done in Spain has involved a contract even though I have used the same architect over a dozen times.
Kindest regards

Hi Zoe. Welcome to EOS.
If you've read anything on any forum you'll realise that terrible things unfortunately can & do happen. Anyone entering into having work of any kind should have a legally binding contract drawn up by a good lawyer. If anything happens then at least you have redress. (Having said that there are many members who, although having a legally binding contract with a variety of people, have encountered problems getting these rectified even in a court of law ). Surely you were not seriously thinking anyone would say yes, go ahead without a contract. Be careful please.
