Hi Jeanie,
we were organising exactly the same thing today.
We have annual travel insurance, but that only covers for emergencies etc. I asked the Doctor for our usual tablets. He said he would only supply 3 months and suggested we find a " friendly " doctor in Spain. I then spoke to the people up at Newcastle, very helpful I have to say. She made enquiries and suggested that we use our European health card ( used to be E111 ) and ask for our medicines in either a state hospital or a state health centre in Spain. Keeping our fingers crossed.

Hi Jeanie,
You could also try a pharmcy, some medicens you dont need a prescription but you will have to pay not cheap.

Interesting that Newcastle said to use the EHIC as some reports say that if you are out of the country for 3 months then you are no longer entitled to NHS.
As a lot of pensioners spend the Winter in hotels abroad, concerns were raised about this shortened period from the 183 days previously stated.
