Manilva and surrounding areas

My OH has been offered a job in this area and I just wondered if anybody on here lives or owns a holiday home in the area.Doing research it looks fantastic and fairly unspoilt compared to the Towns on the Costa Blanca but would love some feedback esp on Schools in the area,is there a lot of expats there or is it mainly Spanish?,is it a residential area all year round etc.Thank you!

We've lived in Manilva for 5 years now and like anywhere it does have its pluses and minuses.

The Manilva area is quite large, the Manilva town is quite small. 

The area includes Sabinillas down by the sea.   Not the prettiest of places by any means but there are bars and restaurants there.

Then you have the port of Duquesa which is very British these days.

There are many urbanisations scattered all around the area.

You would really need to spend a bit of time looking around as all the areas in and around Manilva are quite different.

We live in Manilva itself and we like the fact that we're by the sea and heading in the opposite direction you're in the mountains after a few minutes.

Oh, and very little traffic
