I agree with Stratico.  On many occasions im really disappointed with UK news and documentaries about the Costa del Sol.  Its all doom and gloom and Cow boys and crime on the Coast. They very seldomly show the happy stories here.  But the truth of the matter is that there are many xpats who would never go back to the UK and are so happy here and most feel safer walking the streets here. Although, many complain about how expensive living has become here, including myself!

I was born in the Uk , educated there to post graduate level, and worked as a Forensic Toxicologist for 10 years in London.  Made the move to the Costa del Sol.  Couldnt find a similar job here, realised that tourism and real estate were the most likely options that I would have to resort to,  The past 9 years have been the best years of my life!  Luckily for me, I speak Spanish and this has been my safety net during the crisis.

I would suggest your documentary shows the life of expats who integrate themselves within the Spanish way of life,  here you will another field of view.
