Have you thought about Tenerife? As far I know it is amazing climate there and it is very popular with foreign citizens so there is no reason to worry about facilities or lack of community. The northern half of the island is greener, cooler and gets more rain, while the southern coast is sunny, dry, hot and scattered. I saw lovely ceramics in Cadiz, Andlucia, and Malaga. Unfortunately I don't remember exact names of stores, but only towns where I saw something. Maybe you should visit these towns, they are marvellous.

If you have ordinary Visa or Mastercard debit card there won't be any problems, I think. But you can also need an account in Spanish bank.
