It's true what you are saying, but is still so frustrating when they persist in trying to damage the image of such a beautiful and friendly country, we all know about the corruption in the political parties and unfortunately this has caused problems for a lot of towns, however in my own experience the UK has a lot to answer for as well !! I know where I would rather be but it's a shame that so many other would be expats will be put off giving it ago for themselves by all of these negative programes, my motto is dont knock it untill you have tried it first hand for yourself, and NEVER trust a politician, in any country !!

HOW COME THESE PROGRAMES ARE NEVER INTERESTED IN THE THOUSANDS OF HAPPY BRITS THAT LIVE OVER HERE IN SPAIN, THEY ALWAYS FOCUS ON NEGATIVE SITUATIONS, IT CANT ALL BE BAD !! WHAT ABOUT A FEW HAPPY PROGRAMES FOR A CHANGE HIGHLIGHTING ALL OF THE GOOD THING ABOUT LIVING HERE IN SPAIN. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH NUMEROUS PEOPLE THAT HAVE STARTED VERY SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS HERE, BUT NO NEWSPAPER OR TELEVISION EDITIORS ARE INTERESTED IN THEIR STORIES, I WONDER WHY !! ( NO DOUBT THIS IS NOT AS SENSATIONAL AS BAD NEWS )

Hi, I have a property in the Alicante region, which incidently has now been named as the top province for crime in Spain !! This problem is not just with new builds, I I have been broken into, the alarm system was ripped off the wall and placed in the swimming pool, the security cameras turned round to face the wall. The alarm system was connected to a call centre and the police did arrive after ten minutes however this is plenty of time for these animals to get away. We now have chubb security locks on all of the doors and windows, however I found the grills did not make any difference as they use an adapted bar to wrench the bars out of the brickwork, this causes even more damage, I would not bother with window bars again !! However after all of these problems we still love Spain and have not experienced any of the yob culture that seems to be ruling the UK now.
