Hi Victoria,

Telefonica is currently operating onder marketing name Movistar (mobile phones). Telefonica clients now receive bills under that name. They have improved themselves somewhat over the years. Before they were sole providers but not anymore. They have competition now.  Like other providers it might take a long time before they provide you with a landline or very quick, can't say. The staff at the department "atencion al cliente" or the client helpline like other providers as Ya(dot) com are mostly  from South America and although they sound friendly, they are not very bright and do not really solve problems. They keep you on the phone as long as possible. When they say they get back to you they almost never do......You need to be persistent and ask for someone who speaks English .

Apparently the Costa del Sol is still an attractive country for the British, despite everything (we wonder why?) However, when the retired people come to Spain they might find that it has become as expensive as their home country. And it is true, we see them less and less.....

We were born and raised in Spain (Spanish mum, American dad) and although we have lived outside Spain for several years we find it very disappointing how everything (values of people, care / help for others) here is deteriorating. Also being conned, robbed and all the other negative things which are happening around us on a daily basis saddens us. But hey, we also want to look at all the beauty Spain offers us like lovely trees and mountains, wonderful views, beautiful smell of jasmin in the morning/evening, sounds of birds etc.

Enjoy life, take care of each other but just be careful , people!

We adopted our dog through a charity organisation. We really admire the people there because they are going through very difficult times and have to survive only by donations. Every day is a struggle but they do it out of love for the animals and each time a dog is adopted, another life is saved.... .

Roberto is right, just take this all into account. The car being a RHD, it might be difficult at first to use the car on Spanish roads, specially when going on the autovia or autopista because in that case your views are limited.

Although second hand cars in Spain are expensive, it might be worth it to make some enquiries amongst your Spanish friends/neighbours to buy a good one. Another option would be to hire the car from a private person. Whatever your decision, good luck and drive safe!
